"Toast. I can make toast." Jenna says as she frantically rushes throughout the kitchen. A few months ago, the young strawberry blonde was taking care of herself, in a tiny one-bedroom apartment. Now after learning about her sister's death, she is now taking care of not two, but three teenagers.

" It's all about the coffee, Aunt Jenna," Elena told her playfully. Elena Gilbert, the oldest of the three siblings. She was trying to move on from her parent's death. She thought that she had to be strong for her little brother and sister. So she decided that she wasn't going to be a sad girl roaming the school halls, this year.

" Is there coffee?" Jeremy asked, becoming excited. Jeremy was the middle child. His parent's death hit him hard, and now he is taking hits from drugs.  He hangs out in the stoners corner at school, and he planned for it to stay that way.

"Your first day of school and I'm totally unprepared. Lunch money?" Jenna asked, running over things in her head.

" I'm good," Liza's soft voice spoke as she descended the stairs. Victoria Elizabeth Gilbert, baby Gilbert. Well, she wasn't a baby, she was only a few months younger than Jeremy. Which is practically impossible, but they never questioned it. Liza was the sweetest person but she was also the saddest. After the accident, she was diagnosed with clinical depression, but her siblings didn't have to know that.

"Anything else? A number two pencil? What am I missing?" Jenna replied, sinking her teeth into her bottom lip.

"Don't you have a big presentation today?" Elena reminded

"I'm meeting with my thesis advisor at...now."

"Crap!"

" Then go. We'll be fine. You two okay?" Elena asked.

"Totally," Liza said lying, whilst producing a fake smile.

 "Don't start,"Jeremy grumbled to Elena.

Today was the first day of school. Elena let Bonnie drive her to school, Elena told Liza that she could come with, but Liza just wanted to walk. Liza wasn't afraid of cars. You'd think that her parents dying from a car crash would leave her with a fear of cars, it wasn't that at all. After she and Elena miraculously survived, she blamed herself for what happened. She now carries guilt with her, and a new fear of herself.

"What are you doing, out here, by yourself," Augie asked as he pulled up on his motorcycle. Augustus Fell, son of Logan Fell. Augie and Liza had been best friends since birth. Both of them had grown protective of the other. He had a small crush on Liza, but he would never let her know that.

"Walking to school." Liza simply stated, trying to avoid further interrogation. Augie searched the small girls face for any kind of emotion, for she seemed different. Augustus went to summer camp and became completely oblivious to the fact that Liza lost her parents.

"Hop on," Augie said. He motioned his head upward to signal her to get on the bike. "Here, take my helmet." Augie held out the helmet to the girl. Liza hesitantly put the helmet on and got on the bike. Augustus noticed how awkward and nervous she felt, he reached back and guided her hands to find their way around his waist. "Hold on tight" He smirked.

Liza's nervousness was replaced with adrenaline. The adrenaline made her feel so alive, it made her feel happy, which is a feeling that became unfamiliar.

They arrived at the school where teenagers were running wild. As they made their way through the parking lot, Liza didn't notice the mysterious guy standing in front of her.

"Liza watch ou-" Augie was cut off by the small "oomph" that escaped Liza's lips as she bumped into the stranger.

The stranger turned around and saw the small girl, he smiled. He knew this girl, but she was from another time.

"I'm s-so sorry," Liza said frantically becoming upset.  ' the Same personality' the mystery guy smirked as he thought to himself.

"Hi, I'm Stefan"Mystery guy introduced himself. He wore sunglasses to hide his eyes.

"I'm Liza" Elizabeth replied.

"And I'm  Augie'' Augustus replied. He was scared that Stefan would start to flirt with the tiny girl, so he interrupted them. Stefan stood there, awkwardly staring at Liza. The girl looked exactly the same, the same big and innocent chocolate brown eyes, button nose, and auburn hair.

"Well, we better get to class, don't wanna be late" Augie pulled Liza away and they went into the school.

"Liza. Oh, my God. I just talked with Elena" Caroline hugs Liza.Caroline Forbes, Liza's other best friend. The girl with blonde hair and blue eyes was the Sheriff's daughter. She was quite perky." How are you? Oh, it's so good to see you. How is she? Is she good?"

Augie looked towards Liza, confused. What happened that he didn't know?

"Caroline, I'm right here. And I'm fine. Thank you." Liza replied. She hoped that Caroline wouldn't bring it up since Augie didn't know, but apparently hope was for suckers." Really?"Yes. Much better."

''Oh, you poor thing." Caroline hugs her again."Okay, Caroline." Liza sighs, pulling away from the hug.

"Oh. Okay. See you guys later!" She said before leaving Augie and Liza.

Augie turned to Liza raising his eyebrows, waiting for an explanation. Liza simply shrugged as if she didn't know, but she did know, she just didn't want to explain at the moment. Then the two headed off to class.

A few hours after school, there was a party in the woods. Liza arrived alongside her older brother and sister, but they all eventually split up. So there was Liza, walking alone looking for Augie. Then suddenly she found him, talking to Caroline.

"Hey!" Liza said waving toward him and walking over.

"So when were you planning on telling me?!" Augie said in a rude tone, his eyebrows arching in anger.

"Tell you what?" Liza inquired.

"Oh come on." Augie let out a dry laugh. "You think I wouldn't notice that something changed, and I have to find out from someone else that your parents died! I  thought we were best friends, but I guess I was wrong." Augie bursted with anger before storming off.

Liza stood there, frozen in shock while tears trickled down her face. She ran off trying to look for Augie, but he was nowhere in sight.

Suddenly Liza was pushed against a tree, she looked up to see Tyer and his face was full of rage. Tyler was not like this. He had helped the little Gilbert on many occasions. They were acquaintances, this was definitely not like the boy she met.

"Your brother wants to stop Vicki and me from having sex against a tree, so you and I are gonna have sex against a tree!" Tyler spat with rage.

"No Tyler, please no!" Liza pleaded trying to push him off of her. "Help!" She shouted but then Tyler quickly covered her mouth with his hand.

Tyler had his way, forcing himself onto the girl, and stealing her virginity. As he did this he spat insults at her, calling her 'worthless', 'fat' and etc. After he was finished he threw her on the ground and left her there.

Liza sat up and pulled her pants back up while doing so she noticed the blood dripping down her legs. She stood up but her vision was blurred by tears. Loud sobs racked her body making it tremble. She started to walk in a random direction when she tripped and fell on a root. A hand helped her up.

"Shh, it's okay. You're okay." Liza looked up to see a mysterious man with crystal blue eyes. For some reason, he looked really familiar to her.

"Can you walk?" The man asked concerned. The girl was still in shock, she was sobbing so hard that she couldn't speak. So the man lifted her bridal style and set her in his car. Once they were in his car, he noticed how beaten up she looked, she had a bruise surrounding her mouth and he could smell her blood. Her frail and beaten up body was shaking until she fell into slumber.
