The morning came upon us, signaling wake up and work out time. Most the men were shirtless, a few still kept their shirts on, I wore a grey tank top and my uniform pants as I ran with them. "Laps done for today men.... and lady, go report to your duties for today, you all know your task" Major Yoo ordered. "You know if it's too hard on you, you don't have to work out with us" staff sergeant Im Gwangnam informed me. My men went silent and stared at me. "I don't believe I should have to do any different than a man does just because I'm female, I worked harder than most men to have my job, I don't need special treatment due to me not having something dangling between my legs. Besides, most would think extra weight that doesn't do much would be useless" I said before jogging back to the bunks hearing the men chime in with their "oooooh"s or "she told you".

I slipped my uniform shirt up my arms and around my shoulders as I began to button it at my bedside. "Major Yu- I'm sorry" my eyes veered up to see First Lieutenant Kibum's back facing me. " don't apologize, face me and report" I finished buttoning my shirt and walked closer to him. A small hint of red showed on his ears, but almost everyone becomes flustered after seeing my body, even if I do have a tank top on. "A note has arrived for you from Seoul ma'am " he handed me the envelope. "Please don't call me ma'am, it makes me feel old, besides I'm probably younger than you" I mumbled the last bit. "My apologies Major" Kibum saluted me then left. My hand tore open the envelope and removed the letter before reading it.

Your father is going in for an operation 3 days after I'm writing this, keep him in your thoughts. They found a kidney stone and need to remove it, they believe there is a small chance your father may regain his memory. I smiled. My father having a chance of remembering me for the first time in 4 years. "Major Yu! You're smiling!" I glanced up and saw Changyun returning a smile. "Indeed I am, I have a small hope" I said placing the note down. "Now what is it?" Changyun realized he hadn't said what he came for first. "Oh sorry, Major Yoo wants you to help First Lieutenant Kibum with dinner tonight-" "why because I'm female?" I cut him off harshly. "N-no... because everyone else is on chore duty" I nodded. I forgot I was on monitor duty this shift. "My apologies, I'll head to the mess hall now, you're dismissed" Changyun saluted me and walked out, I followed behind then turned away and headed to the mess hall.
