"We need to get out of town,"

"You go to school we'll meet you there," Leah told Eva.

"You sure?" She asked.

"Yah, we'll take him home then they'll go straight to school," Audrey cut in. I watched the encounter unable to say anything.

A few days ago I challenged my dad. He had just about killed me if it wasn't for Eva, who I found out is my mate by a single touch. A human my mate? I found my mate? This can not be I don't even want a mate.

"Ok, she's gone lets go," Parker lead us all in opposite direction of Eva. We made our ways to the woods they were quite as usual.

Finally making it into the woods I shifted, a painful process since I have been in my wolf form for over 48 hours. It was also quite difficult. At last I had finally shifted and Alex handed me some clothes, and Audrey tackled me in a hug. Then slapped me. Woman I tell you right?!

"That is for scaring us all of half to death! And, the hug was for not dying."

"You scared us all half to death!" Leah said while also giving me a hug. Not quite slapping tho. Step sisterly love.

"I know I know guys, but we have bigger issues," They all stared at me, "My dad. And, if he finds out about where we have been for the past few days she's dead. Although I don't want a mate I most definitely don't want to go insane like Xzavier. I'm pretty sure you all know his story."

Everyone was stiff and quite at the mention of his name and his defused pack. At last we all walked out of the woods.

"We need to get out of town," Alex and Parker said at the same time. They then looked at each other.

"Creepy, but no. I can't just abandon the pack," that would be absurd I am the alpha now and I can't just think about myself.

"What do you suppose we do then?" Audrey asked.

"We have to hide out or take control over the pack," Leah spoke, for the first time in a while.

"I agree with my step sister for once, we can hide out until I get my strength back. Until then we need to find Paiten he is our only hope. And, to find him we must re trace his last steps. I will go to Las Vegas and see if I can find any sign of him there,"

Parker was quick to object, "Now that you have found your mate it'll be hard to be away from her for more than 24 hours at the max."

I cursed under my breath, "I don't want a mate, I could always reject her?"

Everyone's eye turned to me.

"You will do no such thing!" Audrey was the one objecting now.

"That's not the point here, what are we going to do?" I asked. Since clearly I can't leave.

"Take her with us," Alex spoke. I looked at him.

"How do you know she'd agree to this?"

"That's what we have Leah for. She needs to go to school and convince Eva to go with us. While we plan this for say trip," Alex had everything figured out.

"Wait I think her dad is supposed to come into town this week. I heard her nanny talking over the phone whenever I was supposed to be in the bathroom."

I shook my head, "What are we supposed to do then?"

"The twins and I will go while you two stay here," Audrey said.

"That will have to work for now," I sighed. "I'll contact Alphas that went to the conference and see if they know anything. Maybe a few of them wouldn't mind helping us with my farther," Everyone nodded their head.

"Ok then, it's settled. Alex, Parker, Audrey you guys will leave now. Be back in a day or two, while I get everything set. In the mean time Leah keep a close eye on Eva. I will contact the alphas."

Short chapter I know but first year of high school is kicking my butt.
