Dear Chan,

If you are reading this now, know this:

This will be short; this will be concise; this will be my last letter to you.

We started this all with a letter. We continued this, for ten years, with letters.

Now I will end it with a letter.

Lee Chan, will you gladly become my husband?

This started off so tensely, sorry for that! I just wanted to see your reaction. I'm such a childish future husband, am I right?

I know we just released our fourth album as Seventeen, but I just want the world to know that if I had given up back then, I could not hold your hand right now. I could not hold you right now. I could not kiss you, give you he love you deserve, I could not have met you right now, if I had given up.

So I want you to know that Vocal-shi is making a comeback! I'll be singing Spring Day for you~ Woozi and Suga-sunbae are coming to help me!

This may not be counted as a surprise anymore, but who cares, right? Not me, and probably not you.

Okay, listen. Just turn around.

Chan then turned around, only to see Soonyoung with one knee on the floor, holding up a ring that was similar to the group's ring, but with the Seventeen logo made out of diamonds on top.

"Chan," Soonyoung breathed out. "I know I may not be the best writer, but I know I poured out my heart on all of the letters I sent to you. That one is no exception. There may not be as many words, but—"

Chan cut him off as he kissed him, hugging him with tears in his eyes.

Surprised, Soonyoung hugged back and slipped the ring onto Chan's ring finger.

"You asshole," Chan murmured into Soonyoung's neck. "You really planned this today? Of all days?"

"Of course!" Soonyoung chirped. "You always reply on this spring day, so I had to take the chance!"

Chan snorted and hit Soonyoung. "You idiot . . ."

"I'm your idiot though~"

one spring day. + soonchanWhere stories live. Discover now
