Amelia (pov)

8 Years Later

The loudspeaker came over as I took his hand. It was Peter's first flight, and I could tell he was nervous. It was clammy in mine.

"All passengers boarding flight 224 to Los Angeles may now board, groups 3 and 4."

As we boarded the aircraft, I questioned if I was ready to go back to LA and work for Todd again. Jake was still signed to Warner Bros. and there was a possibility I would see him.

Yet, I had to do it. It was the highest-paying job I was offered, and I had an obligation to my son to provide for him. Now that Calvin was gone, New Orleans wasn't safe.

The plane took off, and I sat there in my seat thinking for three hours. Calvin had died only two months ago, and I was still trying to move on. We had been so in love, and after three years of being remarried, we had Peter, who was now 5.

Calvin and I have been married 8 years, and now he's dead. The easiest was for me to make a living would be for me to move to NYC. That way, I could avoid Jake.

I haven't really thought about him these last few years. After leaving him for Calvin, he never reached out to me again. I saw him on TV a few times, and his tour stopped in New Orleans, but I was too pregnant to go.

Every time I look at Peter, I see Calvin. I see those wise-cracking jokes and merry green eyes. I miss him, but it's probably better he's gone. He got dangerous, and he didn't OD I was gonna kill him.

Once the plane landed, I took Peter's hand as we headed to baggage claim. "How was it?" I asked, smiling down at my son. He acted like me, but I swear to God he could be Calvin's twin!

His bold green eyes looked up at me as his little head nodded. I'm such a mom. It's true that I adore my son. Who doesn't? He's amazing. Now that he is 5, it's almost time for Kindergarten. I'm gonna be a wreck.

Just imaging his wedding day.....

A familiar face was spotting in a gap within the crowd. Jenny and her mother sat in a small café sipping out of coffee mugs. I tried using my ninja skills to walk in the other direction, but Jenny caught me.

Our eyes met.

Hers hated mine. She was angry, but they softened when they settled on Peter. Out of pure motion sickness, I started walking towards them.

"Hello, Jenny," I said politely. Her eyes were kind of frozen in me, but Leah's were stone cold. I had hurt her son, and she wanted me to pay.

Hell, I had: Childbirth, eight hours worth!

"Hello, Amelia, it's wonderful to see you."

Wonderful? She was too nice and too sarcastic. I left her brother for someone else! "Jake is meeting us soon." Jake. Suddenly, my throat started to swell as I got clostraphoboic. I need to get out of here!

"Oh, that's nice. This is my son. Peter, say hello." I looking down at him, but all he did was smile too adorably and hide in the edge of my raincoat.

Leah grinned, and the way here eyes looked gave me relief. It was as if she had forgiven me completely. Yet, I know I was a long ways away.

Suddenly, a shadow stretched over my head as Leah's eyes turned scared. I turned to see Jake shadowing over me. Peter smiled up at him. Sonehow, from my mother probably, Peter was so happy all the time.

"Amelia," he said. His voice had gotten deeper. His muscles buffed out like bowling balls, and his face had mateured. His eyes had become an ever richer brown.

I was in love with him. It all came flooding back as our eyes connected. I fell in love with him, I made love with him, then I left for New Orleans and Calvin. When Calvin kissed me, I let him. I was the same slut I had been.

"It was nice to see you all, but I really should go." I stood and gathered myself. Damn, I really wanna cry right now. "Say goodbye, Peter."

He waved to Jenny then we fled to a taxi.

Jenny (pov)

Amelia didn't have the same crazy hair that she used to. It was tamed. Yet, the little boy she had with her looked nothing like her. It was probably her son, the son she could've had with my brother.

But she left.

The moment I saw her, I wanted to cut her eyes out. She left my brother a mess, but he rebounded. He never told us why she left, but I had a feeling it didn't work out.

She started walking. Dammit, what am I gonna say? "Hello, Jenny," she said. My mouth was glued shut. U relplied, but Jake game too soon. Why couldn't he have been in Toronto still?

"Amelia," he breathed. I swear, in the moment you could hear his heart crack when his eyes rested on Peter. That could be his son that Amelia is clutching.

By the time she walked away, Jake was pale. "Jake, are you alright?" Mom asked, taking his hand. "Yeah, just shocked."

Aren't we all?

After 8 years, she came back with a son. She came back, and Jake still hasn't healed. I tell you right now, her son may be a cutie, but I'm gonna tie that bitch to a tree and shoot her.

Jake ordered a water and he drank himself back to Earth. The poor guy was in shock from seeing the woman he still loved with another man's child.

Talk about pain.

After 15 minutes, my mom helped me carry Jake to my car.
