"I think that's the last one," I say in relief, placing the last box in the back of the car my parents managed to surprise me with.

"I love you, sweetie." My mom wipes the falling tears streaming down her face. I frown, pulling her in for a hug.

"I promise, mom, I'll be back before you know it." I assure her, rubbing my hand down her back. She sniffles, slowly pulling away.

She puts on a smile and nods her head, "I know, honey."

"I'll call as soon as I get there, promise." I smile, shutting the trunk. She smiles and wipes her face.

"I love you," We share one last hug. It being just her and I since my dad had to work so we shared our goodbyes this morning.

I walk around to the other side of the car, opening the door. I get inside, buckling up my seatbelt and start up the engine.

I look over my shoulder and see my mom waving. I smile, honking the horn twice before putting the car in drive, letting my foot ease on the gas.

I can't help the smile that creeps onto my lips as I begin to think more about UCLA. The fact it's been my dream college since I was twelve, makes this more exciting.

My phone begins to ring from my lap, scaring me at first. I quickly pick it up, sliding my thumb across the screen and hold it up to my ear.

"Hey college girl," Jacob's voice greets me.

I smile, keeping my eyes on the road. "Hey babe," I bring my foot to the brake once reaching a stop sign.

"Are you almost here?" He asks, there being a muffled sound in the background. I furrow my eyebrows once realizing it sounds like other voices.

"Jacob? Who are you with?" I ask, easing my foot off of the brake.

"W-what? Nobody," He says nervously. I instantly roll my eyes, keeping my eyes ahead of me.

"Okay, well I'm about five minutes away." I sigh, picking up my speed.

"I love you," Jacob says before ending the call, not even giving me enough time to say anything back.

"What the hell?" I mumble under my breath, shutting my phone off.

I ignore my feelings and turn on the radio, blasting the music through the speakers. I couldn't afford to worry about Jacob right now, I had to focus on one thing, and that's college. If he wants to fuck around, oh well.

After stopping at about two more stop signs, I finally arrive in the front of Jacob's house. I see many cars in front of his neighbors house, which was strange since they are in their 80's, but hey if they still know how to party I'm not one to judge.

I open my car door, shutting it softly behind me. An unexpected yawn leaves my mouth as I make my way towards the front porch.

The cold breeze makes my body shiver as I bring my fist to knock on the front door.

I wait a total of three minutes before yelling Jacob's name in frustration, it was simply too cold for me to be standing out here.
