Jacob
"Hurry up!" Hunter yells honking his horn. I flip him off and take my time walking to his car.
"You take years." He states, putting the car in drive. I throw my backpack in the backseat and make myself comfortable.
"That's a little dramatic, Rowland." I smirk and pull out a piece of gum from my pocket.
"What took you so long anyways?" He asks, taking a left turn towards our school. I put the piece of gum in my mouth and stretch my hands behind my head.
"Making plans." I say simply, looking at the road ahead of us.
"Plans?" He looks over for a brief moment, giving me a confused look before turning his head back towards the road.
"Come on, dude. You should know this," I chuckle and shake my head. "Emily Gates, the last girl." I say with pride, knowing I had almost completed the dare from freshman year.
"She's weird. I don't think she talks to anyone." He says bluntly, not making eye contact.
"Which is exactly why she's last," I state, pulling out my phone. "She's gonna be hard to get."
My phone starts to ring and I grown, looking at the caller iD.
'Incoming call from Shelby #4'I slide my thumb across the screen, answering the call.
"What's up?" I say into the speaker, putting my free hand in the pocket of my navy blue hoodie.
"Hey, babe." Her same familiar voice coos into my ear. I sigh, looking out the window.
Shelby #4 was the girl before Emily became my new victim, she finally let me sleep with her last week so it's kind of over. I've been trying my best to avoid her, but she just won't back off. It should be obvious I don't really care much about her if I don't even recall her last name.
"What do you need?" I ask impatiently, not wanting to be on the phone at the moment.
"I can't just talk to you?" She scoffs, making me clench my jaw from annoyance.
"I don't want to talk right now, Shelby." I say, holding onto the handle above my seat as Hunter makes a sharp turn. I like to think of that handle as the 'oh shit' handle.
"Did last week mean nothing to you?" She asks. I cover up the speaker and face towards Hunter.
"This one is annoying as hell." I say and he laughs. I uncover the speaker and bring the phone to my ear again.
"It was fun." I say, sort of dodging her question. She sighs loudly on the other line.
"You took my virginity, Jacob. I hope it meant something to you." Her voice cracks towards the end, signaling me she was close to crying.
"I have to go." I quickly say, pressing the red button and ending the call.
"Well shit," I mutter, sliding my phone into my back pocket. The car stops in front of the school and I open my door.
I grab my backpack from the backseat of Hunter's car and slide it over my shoulders. He gets out and we both walk to the front entrance of the large school. We both had the same first block which was nice. You know who else is in our first block? Emily herself.
"Morning, Jacob." I turn my head and see Michaela, a girl I crossed off the list about a month ago.
"Morning." I smile. She walks away and I admire her curves. Definitely one of my bests.
Hunter and I walk into the classroom and take our seats. The classroom was set up where there were four rows of desks on each side of the room facing each other.
The bell rings, and everyone rushes into the classroom at once. I watch as Emily walks to her desk, pushing her glasses up to the bridge of her nose.
She wasn't all that bad looking, honestly. She had tan skin, wavy brown hair, and I'm guessing she was about 5'5.
The only thing I was dreading about Emily was her personality. She barely talks to others and when she does, people complain how rude she is.
"Morning everyone!" Mr. Matthews our speech teacher smiles and claps his hands together.
I turn my head, giving my attention to him. He walks to the whiteboard and begins to write down our lesson.
I look across the room, watching as Emily wrote down the lesson plan for the day. She was always so focused, while I on the other hand never really was interested in anything a teacher ever said.
She looks up and we make eye contact. I smirk, causing her to roll her eyes and look away.
Oh come on, you don't even know me yet.
