"COME ON, RED, I saved your life. 'Ya know, you'd think that you would be a little more thankful of what I did. 'Weren't for me, you would've either died or ended up in one of those hospitals you hate so much." Dallas had been going on about it ever since his gunshot wound had finally healed, which hadn't been too long ago, actually.

"Oh, so, I should thank you for not letting me die?" She retorted, though she did kind of owe him something after the fact of her being kind of rude to him afterwards. It was, after all, just a simple date he was asking for. But, being Dallas, she knew he'd try something along the way. One more date, suggestive remarks, or even him just being a straight up sassy asshole.

"I'm not asking you to thank me, just give me a chance, y'know. It won't be that bad, I'll even walk 'ya to your doorstep after I drop you off. I mean, we don't even have to go alone, we could bring Two-Bit and your friend, Marla. They seem to get on pretty well. I'd rather us bein' alone, but if 'ya want I guess it wouldn't be so bad. You can even choose a place, West side or East." He continued, easily keeping up with her fast pace with his own long-legged walk. He didn't have much money, but it wasn't as if he was asking to take her to a gourmet dinner or anything. She would've run had she not been in three-inch heels and already fearing or the safety of her ankles. She was on her way to a job interview, part time of course, and more like an internship than anything. She'd be working as a part-time journalist for the newspaper. She'd agreed to it once before, maybe she could give in this time too. Afterall, she'd never gone last time. While that'd been a bonus point for her, it also went against her commitment. She finally stopped, moving to face him completely with a sigh.

"This is our one and only date, and I want to go to Sonic." Her voice sounded firm, though a smile broke through. He had already taken out a cancer stick and stuck it between his teeth.

"Sonic." He repeated slowly, lighting the cigarette and taking a puff from it. He blew it out slowly, his cold eyes falling over her once more. They were so blue, so bright, yet they looked hard and icy. It would've given her the shakes had she not known him, and had he actually shown a rough side of himself when with her - not that she changed him in any way. She didn't think anyone could do that. Dallas Winston was his own person, and honestly, she hoped he stayed that way. She'd never admit it, though. "That's where 'ya wanna go?"  One had been set up in Oklahoma in 1955, but he'd only ever been a few times with Johnny and Ponyboy. The gang usually stuck with Dingo, or some place like that. It was... new, almost.

"Yes."

"Okay." He nodded finally, hand in the pocket of his leather jacket while the other held his cancer stick captive. "I'll pick 'ya up tonight." He gave her a smirk, and for the first time she didn't roll her eyes. She simply watched after him as he turned and walked away, almost as if in a daze. She had a date with a Greaser, and unless anything were to interrupt it, it was actually going to happen. She hoped he wouldn't decide to break the law while they were out, she really didn't want her mother giving yet another lecture on how careful she should be.

"You didn't even tell me what time!" She called after him finally, and he started walking backwards to meet her eyes.

"You'll know the time when I get there!" He called back, cigarette hanging out of the corner of his lips. The smirk never left them. He sure was something else, wasn't he? With that, he moved his back to face her again, walking to his black beat up car and driving off recklessly. God, she was not looking forward to riding in a car with that maniac. But, the date couldn't be that bad, could it?
