Cherry couldn't explain her feelings for Dallas. He turned her world upside down; irritated her more than anyone she'd ever known, yet he was the only one who'd made her blush to the shade of crimson at any comment he made. He made her feel dizzy; as if everything were a carnival ride. Currently, she was going to see him - why, she wasn't sure. He made her make rash decisions like that.
Her hands gripped her steering wheel as she drove, eyes staring straight ahead. She was driving a little faster than the law called for, but that didn't matter much to her right now. Her breathing was steady, but her heart pounded rapidly against her ribcage. She needed something to focus on, but all her mind pointed at was the Greaser. Dally, Dally, Dally. Why couldn't she get him out of her damn thoughts?
Her car made its way to Buck's. He was a friend of Dally's, and while Cherry didn't know him very well she did know that the blond had a habit of staying over there in the back room. She took a deep breath, killing the engine before stepping out and shutting the door behind her. She got to the door, knocking once and waiting. No answer. She knocked again, this time louder. A messy haired Buck answered, face confused as ever. "Who're you?"
"I'm, um- I'm just looking for Dallas."
"He's in the back. Who's askin'?"
"Cherry. Could you tell him I'm here, please?" With a nod, Buck shut the door and went to get Dally. The house was silent. She'd heard this guy was a bit of a party animal when it came to it, but she supposed he didn't always have them. Everyone had to settle down once in a while. After only a few moments, Dallas opened the door. He was wearing a black t-shirt with blue jeans - only these were a shade or two lighter than most she'd saw him wear. He stepped outside, closing the door before leaning against the door frame. She half wondered what he'd been doing in that room, but decided against asking him. She didn't want him knowing she really cared.
"I was wonderin' when I'd see you again."
"Don't get cocky, I was in the neighborhood."
"In the neighborhood." He repeated, and she nodded. "On the other side of town?" He gave her a doubtful look, cold eyes meeting her soft ones. She could've died right there under his gaze, but she didn't. Instead, she simply shook her head, her scarlet curls moving with it.
"Just be happy I came to see 'ya."
"You're in love with me, red." He licked his lips, a smirk already finding its way to them. "You'll always come to see me." She fought back the urge to grin, simply rolling her eyes in response.
"Just shut up and kiss me, hood."
"I thought you'd never ask." He took a step closer, hand moving to swiftly brush a strand of hair out of the way before cupping her cheek and pulling her toward him. His lips were warm against her own, and she'd found that she actually missed them. It almost felt as though she was supposed to be kissing him - even if she knew it technically wasn't your average love story. His thumb ran over her cheek slightly as they pulled away, his smirk growing. "So, 'ya did miss this." She opened her eyes to see him watching her with an amused expression, a blush instantly finding its way to her cheeks. She couldn't say he was wrong.
First, she'd hated him, then violently disliked him. And that turned into to liking him only sometimes, now she didn't even know. But finding out sure would be an adventure.
