You were briskly walking down the pavement. The evening air hit you with a slight chill, encouraging you to reach your destination sooner. The streetlights gave off a dull glow, though this wasn't doing you much good, seeing as several were broken. The walk wasn't bothering you too much, you always did love the feel of nighttime in the city. Though you were sixteen, you couldn't drive. Born and raised on the poor side of town, not many people had cars of their own. So, you walked down the street at some late hour of the night to grab a pack of cigarettes.

Your hands were stuck into the pockets of your thin jacket, brushing against the bit of change you had for your Kools. You did smoke, along with most of your neighbors, though you weren't much of the drinking type. Not for any moral sort of reason, you just didn't find yourself at too many parties. You never had put yourself out there too much, especially with all the hard personalities you'd encountered.

As your feet pattered along the cracked sidewalk, you neared the grocery store, all while whistling an Elvis tune stuck in your head. Taking a right into the lit shop, you were grateful that the place was open as late as it was.

You didn't waste much time in taking in your surroundings as you approached the clerk and asked for your weeds. You visited here regularly, and held a maturity about you, so the owner had never bothered to ask how old you were. He knew all the kids were going to smoke in this neighborhood whether he sold to them or not. He gave them to you and you paid in an efficient manner.

Giving a curt smile, you turned to exit the warm store as once again, you set out into the darkness. Though this time, you had the familiar sensation of a lit cancer stick between your lips. You didn't live right next to the convenience store, you had a decent trip back.

You didn't let your thoughts wander too far, as there were plenty of dangers for a girl your age to face at night, especially where you were. However, you didn't notice anything disconcerting, just the occasional passersby, with intentions probably not far from your own. That was until you came upon a sight that you couldn't help but chuckle at.

Across the street, there was a guy who seemed to be your age. Drunk. He was stumbling and hollering, making himself crack up at something you weren't sure was real. You didn't even realize you had stopped walking until he noticed you.

"Now what's a pretty lady like you doing watching me?" He inquired through his slurs.

You decided to be a bit bold, and play along with him.

"Just enjoying the view" you teased. This caused him to laugh even more.

"You dig okay, baby" he complimented back, a smirk on his lips.

Deciding to be bold once more, you made your way to the other side of the street towards him. You flashed him a smile once you approached the stranger.

"Well I don't believe it," he announced "you're even cuter up close."

This caused you to give a slight giggle, the smile even bigger on your face.

"You sure do have a nice laugh. The name's Keith, but everyone calls me Two-Bit" he flirted once again, with surprising ease seeing his still drunk state.

"Lillian," you replied "but everyone calls me Tiger Lilly."

"Well Tiger Lilly, I would love to bring you to a movie sometime" he stated forwardly. Though you didn't mind, you were quite happy to have caught the attractive guy's attention.

You pulled out a pen and reached for his hand. He shot you a look of confusion at first, but didn't pull away. Clicking the pen open, you struggled to write your number on his hand. After a moment you deemed it legible and let go of him with a smile. He returned one as he glanced down at the new ink he'd received. You just hoped he'd remember who the hell you were the next day.

Not wanting to risk him getting the wrong idea if you helped him to his place, you decided to turn and head back to your house. You had the feeling he would be able to get himself home, even though he was drunk. He watched you walk away  for a while with a smile on his face.

He was definitely going to remember you in the morning.

A/N: Sorry for being so inactive, I'm going to be catching up on requests now!
