Chapter 4: Strong Spirit

In the Tondo Cemetery, Margarette is standing in front of her mother's tomb while holding a ring that her mother left to her, she is remembering their happy moments together but Margarette cannot control to fall her tears, she never think about that her mother will left her soon.

Aunt Leni: Margarette, we need to go.. She wipe her tears ... Don't worry Margarette , I'm now the one who will take care of you. Your mother is already peacefully in heaven and guides you.

Margarette: Thank you Aunt Leni..

Margarette already live with her Aunt leni , so far her stay on the family is not as easy as she imagined. Aunt Leni is mother of 8 children his husband have no permanent job and Margarette to be family's addition is not acknowledged by her husband Mang Nestor.

Mang Nestor: Leni, why you bring that girl, you know that we don't have enough income to raise another child. We cannot even afford to buy a sack of rice, then you will bring another stomach to feed of.

Leni: but, Nestor. I cannot leave Margarette alone, So far I'm the only relative she have. Lola Lita is too old to take care for a child.

Mang Nestor: Holy Crap! What else I can do..

Margarette still continue her study after school she help Aunt Leni on Laundry services, every day she deliver and pick up laudry door by door. All people loves Margarette, she always very lively and deliver her best smile to everyone. Other neighbors give her gifts just to appreciate Margaret good presence.

Afterward, he is doing her assignment at night, however, Mang Nestor always going home drunk, almost every night he drink with the bystanders people outside, and Mang Nestor always blamed Margarette of their miserable life. But, still Margarette respect Mang Nestor and consider her father which she never had in her childhood for a long time.
