Comfort (kth + jjk)

jungkook held a ryan stuffie close to his chest. it had started storming a little while ago and now he couldn't get back to sleep. he sniffled, hugging the stuffie tight.

lightning lit up the sky, a clap of thunder following it. the boy screamed, falling out of his bed. he scrambled to his feet and hurried down the hall. he ran to the living room, plopping onto the couch. his knees were soon tucked up to his chest, arms wrapped around them. he now wished he had worn a shirt to bed.

another boom of thunder sounded overhead. jungkook clenched his eyes shut. he contemplated going into taehyung's room so he could cuddle him and keep him safe. then he remembered that it was nearly two in the morning, and taehyung was surely asleep. a third boom had him on his feet and running to taehyung's room anyway.

taehyung was lying on his bed, sprawled out like a starfish. the thunder had woken him up and now he couldn't find it in him to go back to sleep. a soft knock came at the door, suddenly. taehyung swung his legs over the bed and shuffled to his door. upon opening it, he found his best friend, jungkook standing there.

"what are you doing awake?" taehyung asked, letting him in. jungkook silently sat down on his friend's bed.

"storms scare me. i figured you could help me. keep me safe, just like you always do." taehyung gave the younger boy a small, comforting smile.

"alright, i have an idea. let's make a fort. we'll make a fort and it'll keep us safe and warm, yeah?" jungkook smiled, wiping the tears from his cheeks. he nodded.

the two boys quickly set to work, turning on quiet music. they laughed softly together as they draped blankets around the room.

"ooh, you have fairy lights!" jungkook cooed as he pulled a string of lights from taehyung's closet. taehyung smiled as his friend strung up the lights inside of their little fort. the two looked at their fort happily.

"this is probably the best blanket fort anyone has ever made. it deserves to be in the guinness world record book." taehyung said nonchalantly. jungkook laughed, crawling down into the fort. taehyung followed him. the two lied on the pillow covered floor, staring at the twinkling fairy lights.

"tae tae? what's it like to have a girlfriend?" jungkook suddenly asked. taehyung glanced to the younger boy.

"i wouldn't know. i've never had one." he turned back to the ceiling. "i've had a boyfriend before, though." jungkook looked over.

"you like boys?" he murmured. taehyung turned over.

"yeah. do you not like that?" jungkook smiled.

"no, i'm glad that i'm not the only person who likes boys. i didn't want to tell anyone because i didn't want you guys to judge me." taehyung chuckled.

"have you seen how weird hoseok is? i don't think any of us would judge you." jungkook smiled with satisfaction. he turned over so he was facing the same direction.

"can i hold your hand?" he whispered. taehyung said nothing, only slipped his hand into jungkook's.

"so you've never dated anyone before?" taehyung asked his friend. jungkook nodded. "do you want to?"

"well, i'd like to have to. i just don't know if there's anyone who likes me." taehyung turned his head to jungkook. the boy was staring at the fairy lights.

"what if there was someone who did like you? what if there was someone out there right now who wanted to kiss you?" jungkook smiled again.

"i wouldn't refuse." taehyung sat up on his elbow, leaning over jungkook. jungkook's eyes widened. he had no idea what he was doing, but he also did. taehyung pressed parted lips against jungkook's. even though he had been expecting this for weeks, he still gasped in surprise. the younger's eyes fluttered closed as he sat up more, trying desperately to be closer to taehyung. taehyung pressed a large hand to jungkook's cheek. the two finally tore away from each other.

"first kisses are usually the most memorable kisses." taehyung whispered. jungkook smiled, covering his face with his hands.

"you're so dumb." jungkook hissed. taehyung rolled his eyes. he lied down, pulling the younger boy in tightly.

"shut up, i want to cuddle you and kiss you until we fall asleep."
