taehyung grinned, pressing the back of his head into the wall. the gentle strum of a ukulele accompanied the beautiful voice he had been hearing since he moved in. taehyung had easily developed a crush on his neighbor. it seemed impossible for him to be madly in love with his next door neighbor whom he hadn't yet met. it was sure to happen soon, wasn't it? yes, he would gather the courage to meet him tomorrow. he told himself that for two months.

jungkook strummed the ukulele in his hands softly, smiling as he heard the gentle thump of his neighbor's head on the wall. he had seen his neighbor when he moved in two months ago. jesus christ he looked so hot. jungkook definitely stared from his third floor window while he moved boxes. a sweaty chested boy moving heavy boxes? jungkook wrote his name on the petition for that to happen more often at least three hundred times.

he began to sing a song about falling in love. his fingers brushed over the strings, filling his bedroom with sweet melodies. he could hear his neighbor's small giggle through the thin wall as he sang. jungkook chuckled lightly into the lyrics. he hoped his neighbor hadn't heard him. that would be awkward.

taehyung's eyes fluttered closed as his neighbor's sweet voice lulled his drowsy mind. he kept his back pressed against the wall, listening to the sweet voice through the plaster.

"tomorrow." he told himself before falling asleep.

jungkook rapped his knuckles on 309's door, praying the door would open.

"one second!" a deep voice called from within. jungkook swallowed. he thumbed the frayed hem of his t-shirt while he waited. his eyes trailed down to the floor.

the door opened and jungkook lifted his head. his neighbor was standing before him in only a pair of thin pajama pants. jungkook's
face reddened.

"d-did i catch you at a bad time?" jungkook asked sheepishly. he bent his head down again, his dark hair brushing over his equally dark eyes.

"no. i just woke up, actually. i'm taehyung." taehyung was the boy who had been listening to me every night for the past two months, jungkook thought.

"jungkook. i live in 310, right next door." he finally said, gesturing to his door. taehyung leaned out of his apartment and smiled at the door.

"well, jungkook, it's nice to meet you. especially my next door neighbor." taehyung stuck his hand out and jungkook took it, shaking it quickly. taehyung displayed a box-like smile when jungkook took his hand.

"here, why don't you come in?" taehyung suggested, moving out of the doorway so jungkook could come inside. jungkook stepped inside hesitantly.

"thank you."

"don't worry about it. do you uh... do you want something to drink? i've got those capri sun things." jungkook giggled, nodding to that.

"yeah, that sounds fine. thank you, taehyung." taehyung nodded curtly and hurried into the kitchen. jungkook played with his fingers nervously. was he moving too fast in admitting his feelings toward taehyung? he had just met taehyung, sure, but he had been in love with the boy for two months now. he didn't want to wait any longer if he didn't have to.

the boy wrung his hands as taehyung came back. his toned chest looked nice in the morning sun that filtered through the curtains. taehyung smiled kindly at jungkook.

taehyung's stomach did backflips inside of him. his mind raced with all of the things that he could say.

"what song were you playing last night?" you're such an idiot, kim taehyung! jungkook smiled sheepishly, bowing his head with humility.

"can't help falling in love. i always knew you were listening, you know." taehyung cocked his head as he sat down beside jungkook. jungkook's face burned with the emotions that taehyung caused. he tapped his leg with his finger in an effort to take his mind off of the situation.

"h-how? i-i didn't mean to be eavesdropping, you just have such a nice voice, a-and you play the ukulele very well. i-i was mesmerized." taehyung rambled, his ears turning into tomatoes. jungkook looked up at taehyung.

"tae, i sang that song last night for you." jungkook hesitantly slipped his hand into taehyung's. taehyung closed his mouth before he could say something stupid. once the older boy didn't respond, jungkook quickly took his hand away.

taehyung watched with disappointment as the younger gathered up his things. he wanted
to stop jungkook, but he simply didn't know what to say.

"i'm sorry, taehyung. i shouldn't have just assumed you liked me too. i... uh... sorry. i'm in 310 if you ever need me." he headed for the door after putting on his shoes, still flustered. taehyung jumped up, grabbed jungkook's hips with his large hands, and spun him around. jungkook gasped as he stared up into taehyung's eyes.

"don't go. please, don't go yet." taehyung asked quietly, pressing his hand against jungkook's cheek. jungkook parted his lips to say something, but nothing came out. his licked his lips slightly, hoping he could say what he had wanted to for the past two months now.

"y-you can kiss me, if you want to." his voice was barely above a whisper. taehyung dipped his lips down to jungkook's, locking them together tightly. jungkook's hands found themselves in taehyung's hair. his fingers tangled themselves naturally in his light pink locks, tugging softly. taehyung ran his thumb over jungkook's cheek with one hand, the other one against
the small of his back. the older pulled the other's waist in as close as possible until he was bending backwards.

jungkook felt like crying when taehyung finally pulled back. he had been needing that for so long, he never wanted it to leave. jungkook slipped out of taehyung's grasp and smiled. he took a pen from his pocket and grabbed for taehyung's hand. he scribbled his number on the back of his hand and put the pen back into his pocket.

"uhm, if-if you can't get my attention through the wall, just ah... just call me... or text me... you should probably just text me." jungkook chuckled at his own awkwardness. taehyung smiled brightly, showing off his trademark box smile.

"okay. that... that sounds good. i'll text you. oh, uh..." taehyung trailed off, looking at the ground. jungkook waited patiently for taehyung to say what he had on his mind. taehyung nodded once, "do you want to go on a date this saturday? it'd just be a movie date. i'm a poor college student there isn't all that much i can afford." jungkook laughed before nodding.

"yeah. i'd like that a lot, taehyung. i haven't got any plans."

"then eight on saturday?"

"sure, taehyungie. i'll look forward to it." the two smiled before glancing away.

"saturday it is." taehyung repeated with a nod. jungkook smiled wider, reaching back for the doorknob. he opened the door and stepped out, closing it behind him.

taehyung pumped his fists in the air, giggling wildly. he jumped in a circle as the door opened again. he froze as jungkook grabbed his face and pressed his lips against his. jungkook pulled back with a wide smile.

"i needed a goodbye kiss. i'll see you on saturday." jungkook left once more. taehyung heard the door to his new boyfriend-friend's apartment close. he hurried to his bedroom and sat down on the bed, pressing his ears against the door. he could hear jungkook singing happily.

everything about him was wondrous.
