hoseok had a burning hatred for him. hoseok also had a passionate love for him. it was like a game for hoseok; avoid the one you love most or keep your eyes closed. as long as he didn't see him, nothing bad would happen. sometimes he wondered if he belonged in the dream really or the nightmare realm. he felt like he was in the nightmare realm.

"hoseok!" the familiar voice called. hoseok said nothing. instead, he turned abruptly down an alleyway and ducked behind a dumpster. the voice continued to call his name and hoseok continued to keep his eyes clenched shut. after awhile, the voice left and hoseok stood from his hiding spot. a quick glance around told him that the voice had really gone away this time.

why was it so difficult to avoid him? how come he always found hoseok? what did hoseok do in his past life for his own boyfriend to become his kryptonite? why was this happening to him? when would it end? could hoseok make it end?

the twenty three year old ran his fingers through his dark hair. hoseok couldn't even go home. he was sure to be there. and if he was there, then hoseok was be immediately transported to the nightmare realm.

the nightmare realm was odd. it was painted as the dream realm at first until something bad would happen. just one little bad thing would trigger the ground cracking, the sky growing dark, fire raining down as though heaven itself had been set aflame. it scared him. he hated it. and the only thing that could send hoseok back was seeing him in the flesh.

however, seeing him in the flesh could take months. he would constantly see videos and pictures of him being with other people, committing crimes, covered in blood, being tortured. anything that hoseok didn't want to happen to him, it would happen in the nightmare realm.

so why couldn't hoseok just leave him? he often asked himself this question, but he never received an answer. just when hoseok would finally leave, he suddenly was there. if he was being honest, he didn't know if he was in the nightmare realm or the dream realm. he'd play it safe until then.

hoseok hurried down the sidewalk to his apartment building. he'd opt to stay with his neighbor, namjoon. namjoon had known hoseok's situation for a while now, and usually lied to him when hoseok disappeared into the nightmare realm. the two friends now referred to reality as the dream realm, just because it was easier.

the boy stopped suddenly. there was an alleyway to his left. his eyes widened as the cries of a baby filled his ears.

"no." he whispered. his eyes darted down the alley. right in the middle there was a paper bag. he turned, beginning to slowly walk down the dark alley. the crying became louder as he approached the bag. "god, no." he hissed, peering into the bag. sure enough, there was a small baby inside. it's skin had a slight blue tint to it. the baby's face, however, was red from crying so much. hoseok dipped his hands into the bag, carefully pulling the baby out.

"hey little guy, i'm hoseok." he said softly. the crying softened in the slightest at hoseok's kind tone. he sat down, letting the baby rest in his lap. he carefully took off his flannel, wrapping the baby in it. hoseok came to his feet again. he turned on his heel and cursed loudly.

just as he had suspected, the sky darkened. screams mixed with distant sirens filled his ears. the infant was no longer crying, but instead looking around in confusion. hoseok ducked behind the dumpster to hide again.

"you're part of the nightmare, huh, bud? this place is a shit hole. i'll keep you safe though. maybe. if i can. but judging by last time..." hoseok glanced down at his stomach. "it's uh... it's unlikely kid." he stood again, hurrying out of the alley. the baby stayed quiet as hoseok hurried down the street, avoiding the store window filled with videos of him being tortured.
