namjoon cursed softly as he dropped yet another glass. it was ten minutes until open and he had dropped a second glass. it was like clockwork, really. every day, an hour before open, he'd drop a glass and break it, and another one ten minutes before open. he wondered how he still had a job. then he would remember that he was the best mixer in seoul.

"kim! watch it!" his boss, hoseok barked.

"yes, mr. jung." he called back softly. he bent down and began to pick up the glass to the best of his ability. he didn't have time to lift the holed, rubber mat to get the small pieces. he wouldn't step on them anyway, due to the mat.

"meeting in the front!" hoseok shouted. namjoon tossed the glass into the garbage before hurrying out to the front room of the bar.

hoseok was a good friend to namjoon. they had met a few years ago, and when hoseok opened the bar he asked namjoon to go work for him. they were like old friends during their off hours. during working hours, however, things were strictly business. namjoon was to refer to his friend as mr. jung unless otherwise noted. if he was being honestly, namjoon kind of hated it. it was way to professional for something as relaxed and dark as a bar.

"where the hell is jimin?" hoseok asked. namjoon looked over. he scoffed. taehyung, his coworker, was standing alone. taehyung sighed. usually jimin was right beside him. lately, the older boy had been having to take care of his ill grandmother.

"his car broke down. he'll be here in five." taehyung muttered, quite annoyed with his friend.

"sure, whatever," hoseok muttered, "anyway, it's a friday and the week before st. patrick's day. chances are this place will actually be empty. this is our one day a year where we get an oddly few amount of customers. i'm still trying to figure out what it is." hoseok glanced at his employees. his staff continued to stare at him with an almost awkward silence, awaiting further instructions. "depending on how busy it is, you might get to leave early. back to your stations. namjoon, i'd like to speak to you." the others left, smiles on their faces. namjoon watched as they all left him alone with hoseok.

"what's up?" he asked, folding his arms over his chest.

"that regular, min yoongi, right?" namjoon fought the urge to smile at the mere mention of the customer. namjoon had a slight thing for him, not that he was gay or anything... who was he kidding, he was totally gay.

"yeah, min yoongi. he's fresh out of college." hoseok nodded, pinching the bridge of his nose.

"i've been thinking about hiring him. i heard him once say that he's got an accounting degree. my accountant for the bar just dropped on me. do you think he'd be willing to work here?" hoseok looked back up to namjoon, his eyes pleading. namjoon sighed, shaking his head.

"he wants to move out of the country soon to do charity work in america. he said a month, tops." hoseok nodded slowly.

"worth a shot. just ask him about it anyway? go back to your station and tell me about him more at the end of the night." namjoon turned on his heel and headed back to his little section of the bar just as the doors were opened.

namjoon stood silently for nearly an hour, wiping out some older glasses he had found in a box last week. hoseok was right; there was nearly no one in the bar. taehyung had two people and jimin had one. hoseok had dismissed most of the other employees early, simply because he didn't see a point in them staying if they weren't doing anything. namjoon stayed for hoseok, but mostly because he wanted to talk to yoongi.

"whiskey." a deep voice drew the corners of namjoon's lips up into a smile.

"didn't think my regular would show today." namjoon replied, setting down the glass. he pulled a smaller glass from a shelf. he set it down in front of yoongi and filled it with the boy's favorite whiskey.
