A/N - Enjoy!
Hailey’s P.O.V
“So it’s a date.”
“For the hundredth time, no.”
“For all I know, you two might be lying. Just pretending that “Matt” invited you both for dinner, just to go out,”
“Karla! We are not lying. If you want, I can make you talk with Matt.”
“Then it’s a double date.”
“I’m outta here.”
I walked out of Karla’s room, sick and tired of this conversation. Three hours remaining before we go for the dinner, I wanted ask Karla what outfit I should wear. What do people wearing when going out for dinner? Formal? Informal? Punk Rock? An Autobot?! I don’t know!
Instead, she was making fun of me.
“Hailey! Come back here. I’m just kidding, you know that!” she said, dragging me back to her room.
I plopped myself on her bed, crossing my arms.
“Hailey, I just came back from work, early, to drop you guys at the restaurant. I do have the upper hand here. I can make fun of my niece if I want!” she said and I couldn’t help but smile at that.
“Okay, now enough leg-pulling. Now enlighten me! What the hell should I wear?” I asked and Karla frowned at that. Whether it was my language or thinking about my outfit, I do not know.
“Why don’t you wear a nice elegant dress?” she asked. I shook my head.
“What if they are wearing casual clothes and I’m the only one dressed as if I just came straight off from Red Carpet?”
“Then, casual?”
“What if they are wearing elegant, sophisticated clothes?”
“Why are you wasting my time again?” she asked, looking irritated.
“See, I’m new at this, okay? Oh, wait. What if I wear a knee length purple top with black slacks? Casual yet elegant. Brilliant!” I said, visualizing my look. Pretty good. I stood up, kissed Karla on her cheek and ran towards my room.
“Thank you for wasting my time!” I heard Karla shout behind me. Well, I sure did waste her time.
After spending an hour, showering and putting together my look, I wasted another hour surfing online. My good friend, Kim, was online. Since she is out of town, getting a Wi-Fi connectivity was not easy. I told her about the crazy, unbelievable stuff that was happening to me. Being the crazy, bubbly friend she was, she managed to extract all information out of me and it seemed as if she was more excited than me. She said that she is “shipping” us. (Google it)
After getting off the laptop, I knocked on Logan’s door to hurry up as it was time to go. Karla was already waiting for us downstairs. She smiled when she saw me.
“You look so beautiful, baby girl… I almost forgot how good you look when you don’t wear over-sized t-shirt and pajamas,” she said, messing up my hair a bit.
“Haha. Very funny.”
We heard a door bang.
I felt my respiratory system collapse when Logan came down the stairs. Who the hell gave him the permission to look so damn fine?
His hair was neatly combed (which looked good but I prefer the tousled hair look), he wore dark jeans with grey shirt which looked great on him (honestly, everybloodything looks great on him) and had a small smile playing on his lips.
