Derek Push

Hey everyone I'm Derek Push captain of the Saltwater High football and basketball team captain and contrary to a popular belief I'm not a player and nor I'm stupid. I actually happen to be one of the smartest people at school. After Annabeth Chase that is. She is the complete package,she is smart, athletic and most definitely beautiful. Unlike other boys who try to ask her out without knowing her I took one year to get to know her and today was the day I will ask her out. It was the eighteenth of August and she looked extra happy for some reason. It was the last period and I was ready to ask her out. After the last period got over I rushed into the halls and literally sprinted outside to ask her out. When I reached outside I saw a sea green convertible pull into our school's parking lot all heads turned to the direction of then car. I must say the guy who got out of that car was quite the looker. He had sea green eyes and unruly black hair which had never been combed. I was waiting for Annabeth to gap come out so I could ask her the question. In no time at all that guy was almost trampled by all the girls. He had a peeved expression on his face and said that he was waiting for his girlfriend to come out. In no time at all Annabeth came out. She was furiously searching her back for her sunglasses. When she found them and put them on she walked over to where I was standing.

"Hey Derek"

"Hey Annabeth, What's up?"

"Nothing much the same old stuff. What about you?"

"Look Annabeth I need to ask you a question..."

"Go ahead"

"See you know we have been friends for a while.."

I could not finish what I was saying because that guy with the green eyes came up to us and covered Annabeth's eyes. She took her hands and felt the guys hand. She whipped her head around so fast that I'm sure she got a whiplash.

"SEAWEED BRAIN! What in the name of gods are you doing here?"

"Hey Wise Girl well I just thought that it would be a good idea to surprise my gorgeous girlfriend on our two years right? So here it is, Happy Anniversary Wise Girl"

"Thank You Percy! you have no idea how much you coming here means to me."

"Anything for the girl I love." said Percy.

She laughed and circled her hands around his head and kissed him on the lips and said " Happy Birthday Perce"

"Thanks Beth"

Okay then now all I felt was awkward I cleared by throat and not Percy and Annabeth looked at me with beat red faces.

"Oh my gods sorry! Derek meet Percy, my boyfriend."

This Percy guy stuck his right hand forward and said " Percy, Percy Jackson "

"Derek, Derek Push"

Then Percy broke the silence and said " Beth we should be going, Jason said that there is something special waiting for us at camp so we should go."

Annabeth nodded her head.

"Goodbye Derek." Was all she said before getting into the car with Percy and driving away.

I guess my chances with her are gone at least for, well, ever.
