Hey guys!! This is a small chapter, some of you wanted. It is about why Annabeth decided to break up with Percy.

Annabeth's POV:-

Nightmares were prone to a demigod.

Percy was tied to a tree, blood was dripping from his face. He had gashed around his body and he was all muddy and dirty. The monster who attacked him could not be seen. The monster's face was covered. His skin was bleeding red and his eyes were blackened.

"I'm going to ask you this one last time boy, Where is Annabeth Chase?"

"Really, ugly? You think I'm going to tell you?"

"Boy, you are treading on very thin ice."

"Even if I fall, the water will only make me stronger."

"SHUT UP." And another gash appeared on his face.

Percy spat blood out of his mouth and said,

"You can break my soul, take my life away, beat me, hurt me and kill me. But for the love of gods don't you dare lay a finger on her."

"Trust me, I may do all of that and at the end, even lay a finger on your precious girlfriend."

"Don't you dare."

Another gash across his face.

"Please take me, I'm right here. Don't hurt him! Please. Don't." I said pushing myself between Percy and the monster.

I bent down and acted as a shield between Percy and the monster. Suddenly the scene dissolved and the monster was no longer in front of me. Instead my mother stood there.

"Mom, what are you doing here?"

"Annabeth, my dear daughter, I just came here to show you what your weakness is. You very well know that I don't appreciate the fact that my daughter has a weakness. I need you to break up with him and stop seeing him."

I knew I was trouble the minute I decided to kiss Percy for the first time. It was ethically and morally wrong for a child of Athena to date a child of Poseidon. We were not meant to, we are supposed to be arch rivals. We are supposed to hate each-other, but I couldn't.

Percy changed me, he made me a better person, and he completed me and showed me more. As a child of Athena I am meant to know everything, but until I met Percy I did not know the meaning of love and affection. Percy brought out those emotions in me. Somehow he has always managed to see the best in people and bring it out in them. I deeply love him for that. But this was not more important than his life. He made the world a better place. It was better seeing him alive than dead.

I love him, that is exactly why I need to let him go.
