    "We're home."

Three days later Ellie was released to her "father" to her dismay. As they pulled into the long driveway Ellie looked to the two story home and felt nothing but fear. This was not her home, the way it looked and was built it wasn't like the homes she felt she knew.

"Let's go inside." Her father placed his hand on her shoulder and she jumped, not aware that it was a calming gesture rather than an attack. She didn't know why she seemed so jumpy, why she felt she was being watched but it made her feel off balance. The blue door opened to gray and white outlined walls that were covered in pictures and decorations, and the blue accents here and there on the large couch made the room match. "It's pretty." She shrugged.
The man smiled down at her. "Honey, we're home." He called down the hall, to whom she wasn't sure.
It wasn't until a young woman appeared at the end of the hallway did she know who he called to. The woman before her was named Maria, the one who she saw when she woke up. Her hair was down behind her back and as her small frame came closer to her she could only smile as Maria dipped down her head and kissed her forehead as she hugged her. "I'm so happy you're home!" She pulled her back, Ellie seeing that she had on a beautiful purple maxi dress that spilled onto the floor making her look elegant and comfortable all at once. "That place must have been strange to wake up to. At least you will be in the comfort of your own room."
Maria ushered her forward, down the hall to the stairway where Ellie looked to see a picture of a baby in a pink headband, strands of blonde hair peeking through the band and as she looked at the baby's eyes had an eerie sensation they matched hers and were watching her at this very moment. "Is that me?"
Her father nodded. "She carried you like a champ even when we had some complications in the beginning and you were so beautiful. Your mother and I couldn't stop crying when you were born."
That was when she knew for certain that Maria wasn't her mother. "Why don't we go upstairs? I bet you're dying to be back in your own bed again."

Before reaching for the silver door handle Maria moved aside, allowing Ellie to take hold of the door handle and enter.
The afternoon light was bright through the large window and she noticed a long black dresser underneath which was littered with brushes and jewelry boxes. Plum colored walls were a great accent with white trim as the walls were covered with posters of movies she's never heard of-or in this case remember. There were so many faces and posters, even one that had a strange man with a white painted face and abnormally large hat with the words ALICE IN WONDERLAND. Nothing was coming back as she looked to her twin size bed, neatly made with a light gray comforter and a purple sheet peeking through. "So, what do you think?"

"It's nice. I like purple.A lot of posters too."
"No matter how ratted and torn they were, you would fight me tooth and nail to keep them. I gave up two years ago."
"I liked them so much that's why I kept them." She froze, not meaning for it to sound like she remembered them but she felt the need to lie, if only just this once.

Maria knew, watching the young girl before her struggling, that she needed to be alone. "Well look at the time. The lasagna is almost ready." She looked to her husband. "Dear can you help me in the kitchen with setting up our plates while Ellie gets familiar with her room again? We'll call you when it's done." She looked at Ellie with a knowing smile. "Take your time and relax."
With reluctance John finally walked out of the room, closing the door behind him. "Who were you Ellie?"
She looked at her reflection in the floor length mirror near the bed, seeing herself for the first time; her white blonde hair fell to her elbows and she placed it up In a ponytail wondering if this is what Ellie used to do to her long hair. It felt comforting having her hair tied back, to keep her view clear and sharp of anything trying to sneak up on her.
Though the thought struck her as odd she continued on to find who Ellie was. She wondered what clothes suited her small frame. She highly doubted it was this loose gray t-shirt and black sweatpants.
"There must be something better than this." She pulled at her shirt as she walked over to the closet. The dark brown doors opened to many colorful items hanging inside and she smiled as she saw the shades of colors she loved; red, black, blue and purple colored t shirts and lace shirts were visible as well. She gasped when she saw some vest and corsets feeling as if she was gravitation towards them more than the shirts. The corsets had lace detail, some black and some even having flower designs in gold on the dark purple corset she had grabbed. The gold hooks felt elegant and strong along with the boning it had inside.
She grabbed a purple one quickly wrapping it around her small waist over the shirt. The tie in the back was perfect length as she attached the front hooks. Feeling the smooth details of the corset against her she smiled at herself as she returned to the mirror and decided to look for pants to go with it.The fabric was light and breathable as she slipped them on, loving the feel and ease of the fabric and ability to move.
