"Again." Falencia blocked his swing in time, protecting her ribs thanking the gods she was able to save herself from that pain. Something in his eyes, in the movement she saw as her necklace heated her skin made her see differently and move her right sword to protect her in time.
Before he could blink she swiped her free sword towards him getting a clear shot of his side. The breath knocked out of him as he steadied himself and moved out of the way in time to block her second swing. "Good job. You got me. Next time more of the blunt side. Thank god this is wood." He teased as he swung once more making them cross swords staring at each other wondering who would drop their sword first.
Falencia didn't want to give up. She wanted to know what Joseph was trying to say and why Tavol had stopped him. She wanted to know so much more of her past life and she knew this was the only way to get him. With speed she didn't think possible she ducked pulling her blades against his and spun away from his counterswing.
Though the move surprised her she still kept moving knowing that this was fun and games with wooden swords but she needed to win this battle and hone her old movements. It seemed some came so naturally to her she wasn't sure if it was muscle memory or the stone that rested on her chest aiding her.
Tavols' swing met her arm and she cursed. "Got you." He taunted with a smirk.
"That was a cheap shot." She fought back spinning low trying to knock him off balance but all he did was just over her dual swords. She wanted to prove that she could beat him once more even if she'd only dreamed of it. With one last final push and gut feeling that he was using his wind magic to push her back, she pulled her magic from her chest and out her arms she pushed off of his sword when they clashed and as he tumbled backwards. "You're dead." She grinned from ear to ear as she pointed the tip of her sword at his throat.
Tavol was gasping for breath realizing she had turned the wind against him. "You counter acted my magic." He grunted. "Very good. You're a sly one using my magic against me. But I can teach you more than just that."
She couldn't understand what he meant. There was much more to learn, she knew that, but what else could he teach her? Her head tilted, she allowed him to stand up, laughing as his hand was grasping at his chest from her light tap with the blunt side of her sword. "Baby you knocked me right off my feet."
"Aren't girls supposed to say that? I didn't realize you were a girl." She cooed.
She was being bold and fresh with him even when she knew it could mean a world of hurt on this field. He's had years when all she's had is a few days so she needed to let off a little bit of steam and show that she could not be pushed around. "Count your lucky stars I love you or I would use my magic to tie you up in the seats and make you watch every boring match we have here in this stadium until you die of boredom."
She pretends to be afraid. "Oh no. I'm shaking in my boots."
His laugh echoed against the large wooden walls and before she could move he was in front of her, his sword now on the ground as his arms nearing her waist grabbing her wooden swords by the hilt, getting it out of her hands and onto the ground in one swoop. He picked her up loving the feeling of her against him as he started spinning her around her legs and arms tightly around him so she didn't crack her head open. Something about the look in her mischievous eyes made his heart explode and before he could stop himself he kissed those lips that were inches away.
It felt as if they were meant to be this close, this loved by one another. His lips were all she could feel, the warm press of his body holding her, that she couldn't figure where he ended and she began. All she could feel was warmth, lips and a fire burning deep within. Who could have thought she'd be here in such a place with someone who seemed to care for her and loved her? Did her family accept him as a guard and not a high blood? The kiss made all other questions disappear as his lips tasted hers and his hands held her firm. "God I missed you. I can't get enough of you. I need this. I need you so much." his voice was full of need as he kissed her once more.
