We wondered through the dark forest at a quick pace since I refused to change so I didn't smell like a cat. As we go I scan the forest for signs of other wolves or another danger.
"Relax you have to act like your a human" Fallon tells me as she drags me through the dense forest.
"I can't help it, I'll make it look a little more discreet though" I say as I relax myself.
"We are almost there" she says after a few minutes. We step out of the tree line and I see a large house similar to my own.
It's four stories tall and made of red bricks with cream coloured shutters and doors. Small children play with wolves and each other on the large grassy area while woman hang the laundry and a few older men stand around a barbecue. It was truly a very nice site to see everyone so happy with each other. Until they saw us and then they all stopped and looked at us.
I kept my gaze down while Fallon lead me inside the big house. The outside looks as big as the outside. From what I counted there were over three living rooms and two kitchens. Fallon drags me up a flight of dark wooden stairs and down a labyrinth of hallways to the end of a very long one.
She stops abruptly and I pull my gaze from the floor. I see two white frosted glass doors.
"The Alpha's office" she whispers to me.
"Are you ready for this?" I ask her quietly.
"I think so" she says and turns to me. I kiss her cheek and she blushes. She turns back to the door and knocks.
"Come in Fallon" a voice calls from behind the closed door. She pushes it open and we walk into the office. The Alpha sits at a large wooden desk with a name tag. Strange trinkets cover his desk and other surfaces in the room and along the walls.
The Alpha motions for us to take a seat on the chairs in front of his desk. We both sit in the ugly chairs that look like they need to be in a principals office.
"Hello" he addresses.
"Father, we have a situation" Fallon says quickly while she plays with her hands.
"What kind of situation?" he asks her while eyeing me wearily.
"Um, so I was, er, out with my friend Ember when Eric came into the field and attacked us" she explains slowly as she tries to find the right words.
"What is so bad about this?" he ask her more cautiously.
"Alpha Breen, with all due respect I feel that I should answer for Fallon because what happened has shaken her up quite a bit" I say to him. He looks at me in surprise.
"Well then you tell me what happened in the field" he says to me and places his elbows on the desk and folds his hands neatly.
"We were sitting by the tree when a wolf came into the clearing from the trees and he looked angry" I start slowly "Fallon then introduced us and told me that he was her recent ex boyfriend, Eric. I was upset that he once had a claim to Fallon so I challenged him to a fight" I explain. The Alpha's eyebrows shoot up and he glances at Fallon in the chair and then back to me.
"What were the rules for this fight?" he asks.
"No weapons or changing allowed only hand to hand combat, first one knocked out wins" I say.
"So let me guess, you won that fight?" he says jokingly.
"I did, I knocked out Eric and made sure he would be fine and then we came to tell you as a warning because I think that this loss will effect him big time. He will probably become possessive and obsessive and I don't want your daughter to get hurt in the long run by him" I explain again confidently.
