People would tell you brothers are annoying , irritating , and stupid but sometimes they can really come in handy.

My eyes focused on the board even if they were falling down because I was dying for sleep. When you have parents that argue all night, sleep is very hard to do.

"You tired, sis?" A low voice with an Spanish accent asked me.

Myles.

I rolled my eyes and looked up at him. "Staying up is a very hard thing to do right now." I explained.

The boy's eyebrows lifted up and nodded. "I can see that.."

A sigh came out of my mouth loudly as my big brother sat next to me.

Myles and I met when I was 5, he was 7. Ever since then we were closer than any other siblings I knew.

When Myles mom died my family moved to Tulsa to get closer in him for comfort. It really didn't help because dad ended up starting to drink while mom went out at night and fucked other people behind my fathers back.

At night when my parents usually got into arguments I would go out to Myles house since I didn't know the Curtis's at the moment.

Myles told me that everything would be okay when I was crying on his shoulder at night. I could tell he was just saying it for comfort, parents ended up arguing even more, that includes Myles too.

Myles's dad ended up leaving the house and left. They argued a lot bout Violet; his younger sister, only 14. Myles's ended up getting a job while also staying in school. It's a hard thing to do, especially if his story is kind of like Darry's.

"Was it Mom and dad again?.." Myles whispered in my ear as I finished my history notes.

"Mmhh" I whispered back with a yawn also.

"You really need to start sleeping.." Myles started. He's always protective. "I dont want you to you know.. Get really tired 'n just pass out or whatever" My older brother tried to explain.

"Uhhh huh," I wasn't listening to him to be honest...

Myles looked at me.
"Look Max, ion want you to be working your ass off with school especially."

"But you work harder than me!" I whisper-yelled. "You have to take care of Violet and me."

The boy shook his head that made his hair fly all over the place (most of the girls fell in love with it). "No, you guys are my first priority. You guys come first.."

I rolled my eyes and put my eyes on the school bell.

Ten, Nine, Eight, Seven, Six, Five, Four, Three, Two..

Ring.

"One.." I whispered to myself as I grabbed my green backpack.

"You going with Dallas?" Myles asked as I walked out of class.

"Yup." I responded quickly and walked off.

Remember to talk to that Kid, gotta get his stuff tonight.

"Hey! Max! Earth to Max!" Two-bit yelled at me.

My eyes met him and my eyebrows were raised. "Huh?"

"What's up with you kid, you're acting weirder than Pony, and he's weird .."

"I'm fine." I told Dallas and Two who was leaning against the red mustang.

"Uh huh.." Dallas said.

Dallas passed Two-bit a cancer stick then passed it onto me. I flung my arm out and shook my head no.

"Not in the mood for that.."

"Then what are you in a mood for?." Two-bit asked rudely.

"Something thats not a cancer stick." I snapped back.

"You know what.. Let's go find trouble" Dallas said and started to walk as we followed.
