I wake up to the sound of an alarm clock. It's not mine though.

Right. I slept over at Tyler's.

I run my eyes and look at the clock.

It's 7:30

We have school.

I sit up really fast and my messy hair falls in my face.

I grab a brush from out of my bag and brush my hair.

I grab my pants from yesterday and put them on over my shorts.

I start to take off the shirt but I'm interrupted.

"You can keep it by the way." Tyler mutters through his pillow.

I leave the shirt on.

I put my black zip up sweater over it.

Tyler finally gets up from his bed.

He heads to the bathroom.

He's probably having a shower. So I just sit on the bed.

"Tyler have you seen th-" A women who looked to be around her 40's walks in. She stares at me for a second. Not saying anything.

"Hello." She says breaking the silence.

"Uh hi. Um I know this may seem weird uh-" Tyler walks in cutting me off.

"Mom this is Ember." She looks at Tyler then back at me. She smiles.

"Hi Ember. You can call me Alice if you'd like."

I smile and she leaves the room.

"Thanks for leaving me alone." I just realize what Tyler looks like as of this moment. His hairs wet and he has no shirt on. He had a towel around his neck though. And he has pants on.

"Yeah no problem." He says laughing.

"Breakfast will be ready soon. You want some?"

"Well I wouldn't want to burden any of you. You don't really have to do this."

"Trust me Ember. It's fine. You're more then welcome here."

"Your mom barley even knows me though. What if I'm out to steal her flowers or something I don't know."

"She knows I don't bring home people like that."

"Oh so how many people do you bring home them."

"Oh uh.." he looks down at the ground. "Including you?"

I nod.

"Then one."

"Oh." I say a little surprised.

He heads to his closest and grabs a shirt.

I follow Tyler upstairs.

"Sit." He says point at a chair.

So I do. Kinda bossy.

Then he disappears for a moment.

They have a nice home. They have flowers and family pictures and so many other things that my house doesn't have.

Tyler walks back in carrying three plates. Each plate has an assortment of fruits, scrambled eggs, and toast. Alice then comes in with three glasses of orange juice.

"Just three?" I say curiously. I know Tyler has siblings.

"Yeah Tyler is the only child who actually sits down with me during breakfast. It's nice of him considering he doesn't have to." Alice responds looking over at Tyler then smiling.

"I believe I should spend quality time with my mom. Even if I get busy at least I know I had breakfast with her." He smiles and takes a bit of his toast.

"That's sweet. Also thank you so much for this breakfast and letting me sleep over." I always feel bad when I sleep over at people's houses and they offer me food. I don't know why. Anxiety I guess?

"It's not a problem." Alice says smiling then eating a strawberry.

I jab my fork into a strawberry and a blueberry.

"So tell me a bit about yourself." Alice says curiously.

"Like what?"

"Not sure. How bout hobbies or where you and Tyler met?"

"Oh well hobbies is easy. I love art. I'm apparently pretty good at it or so I've been told. I'm also kind of a geek and I'm good at science and math and stuff. As for where I met Tyler. I was at a train station. He tripped over my foot. We met again on a walk, then he was in my home room in school."

"Smart and pretty." She smiles staring at Tyler.

He blushes a bit and slides down in his chair like he's hiding.

Ding

That's my phone.

"I'm sorry let me just check this." I say grabbing out my phone

Alice nods.

Ash: Where are you??

I have 7 previous text messages from her also.

Me: Chill I crashed at a friends place.

Ash: You don't have friends.

Besides her she's right.

I put my phone back in my pocket and continue eating breakfast.

We finish up after a few minutes and I help with the dishes.

Time for school.
