Siegfried's POV

Leaving all my gear inside, I park my jeep behind a textile mill and walk down the road a ways to a coffee shop across from the bank. I sit down at a window seat and look across into the bank window, seeing several bank tellers and customers doing business inside. I recall my dossier. "Mannstein, head of the show. Corruption at its finest." I think to myself. I weigh my options. In front of the bank, there's a fire hydrant which could serve as a brief distraction if the pressure caused it to explode. Too much risk involved in hurting innocents though. The bank had almost comically oversized chandeliers hanging from the high ceiling. "Very high profile." I mutter, though I can't help but laugh at how funny that would be. "I do suppose I could just wait until he leaves." I think to myself. I would have to determine which car was his though. I exit the coffee shop and cross the road to the bank, looking at each of the cars out front. An 80's SUV, two motorcycles, and a dodge challenger. Nothing that someone with Mannstein's wealth would buy. Having realized this, I checked around back, seeing a small electric car and several other more ordinary cars. I finally came to a single car enclosed parking garage. Peeking in through the holes in the perforated garage door, I finally found a high profile enough vehicle. Parked inside was a brand new, ash grey Rolls Royce Phantom with the licence plate "$h3k3l5." This was definitely Mannstein's. I took from my pocket a specialized tool. A small ball of paper-thin plastic encasing A strong liquid adhesive and a tracking beacon. I threw this at the grille, and the ball popped, sticking the tracker to the car. Now all I had to do was wait. I returned to the jeep and began the drive to the abandoned mine.

Fenix's POV

"You know we can't allow this." My watch said. "I know, I know, but what am I supposed to tell them?" I asked, growing irritated. I had also just realized I didn't report the monstrous creatures we encountered back at the mill, and wondered if Hooke would lose his shit if I mentioned it. The man on the phone sighed. "Look. Just keep them away from the facility and we should be ok. If you see anything above E class that isn't in containment, find a way to get them away from it and we'll assess from there. I didn't like the idea of the Foundation's "Assessment." As it usually meant a disappearance or class three anesthetics. I wiped my face anxiously. "Why did this have to fall on me." I mutter to myself. I hang up and get in my Chevy, heading towards the "Mine."

Nolan's POV

I arrive at the new location, looking around outside the mouth of the mine, seeing some remains of transport carts scattered in the loose rock. Siegfried's Jeep pulls up, and he hops out, looking somewhat distracted. Soon after, Fenix's truck arrives and he looks pretty pissed off at me and Sig, seemingly. This is quite unlike him. Sig seems to notice this too, "Hey man, you ok?" He asks. Fenix nods, giving an unconvincing smile. Siegfried just drops it, sensing Fenix's apparent anger. "Well uh, let's head inside I suppose." I say, pulling my Maglite from my belt and shining it around the mine's entrance, a wall of dry, sun-worn planks and a rusty door of iron bars. Sig picks the padlock open on the door and we enter the dark tunnel. Spotting some old oil lamps hanging from a rope above us, I strike a match and light them as we go. This seems to ease a bit of Fenix's tension, and in turn, relaxes myself and Sig. Suddenly Sig stops, looking behind us quickly, looking concerned. "The lights. Look!" He says. The lanterns I had been lighting were going out as we walked away from them, and I had a strong feeling there was something walking towards us in the shadows. "Fuck this, let's book it!" I shout, starting to sprint down the tunnel at full speed, Sig and Fenix close behind me. "Hang a left!" Fenix shouts. I turn left quickly, throwing open a metal door and slamming it behind us. I turn the deadbolt and slide down the wall. "What was that thing?" I say, out of breath. "No idea. Probably nothing good." Sig replies. I realize something. "How'd you know to take a left?" I ask Fenix. "I saw a light ahead of us that lit the door up for a split second." He says, giving me a weird look. I nod. "Oh. I must not have noticed." I reply. "We should check to see if anything is still there." Sig says, rising to his feet and opening the door just slightly. "The lanterns are all on." He says. "Atmosphere feels better too." "Let's head out then." I reply, standing and following Sig out the door. Fenix closes it as he follows me. He keeps checking his watch.
