Ciella could barely fathom it. Here she was in heart of her country, against her domineering brother's wishes and with the most despicable of beings acting as her guide.

Not that there was any problem with that.

There wasn't a time she couldn't recall when she had pleased Ciel with her behavior. Ever since their escape, all she had ever seemed to have done besides hide from the masses was to break every single rule Ciel had implemented for her wellbeing. No matter how hard she tried, she always managed to break one on a weekly basis.

Therefore, it didn't matter whether she were about the city without permission. "I might as well break more rules while I'm ahead." Ciella mentally concurred as she kept her pace by Sebastian's side.

The dark crow hadn't uttered much more other than his gallant welcome. Instead he kept a vigilant eye for any danger that posed harm to his mistress.

Hell only knew what would happen to him if anything were to harm her. It most likely would involve another very brutal beating. If he wasn't a demon, his head would probably be rolling down the Thames. A sickly amused feeling crept into his chest at the mere thought of such a deed. As they walked, he let his eyes wander over towards the young noble to see how she fared.

Here she was without a single clue as to how to move about society. Trudging through the mucky streets and dodging past scurrying men and women who hadn't enough mind to take care. What foolishness but what were humans but a trifling, youthful bunch bent on vexing him?

"My, I seem to be taking a more cynical view than I would normally allow myself to retain but after being alive for millennia, what else could I expect to-"

"Sebastian?"

He fazed back into his current reality then turned on his heel to face his escort. "Mistress. Something the matter?"

"No, it's just that you seem distracted."

This caused the demon to scoff at her remark and glaze on a simple smirk.

"If you should be concerned about anyone's wellbeing, it should be your own. Hell only knows you'd wander off and wind up in a predicament only I'd be capable of handling."

Ciella huffed as she quickened her step to meet his. "Really, Sebastian. You needn't sell me so short." "Of course not. Your stature already speaks for itself on that point."

There he went, twisting her words into the double edged blades of dry repartee. Refusing to give him the satisfaction of her indignation however, she merely sighed and tended her eye to look at all that lay before her.

Dazzling window displays, milling class crowds, the stagnant stench of industry and romance pilfering the air. Children racing down the avenue with ringing laughter.

Nothing could make Ciella feel as free as she felt now. It felt so invigorating just to be able to see this variety of space and not be confined to one singular compartment. Her gaze swept around, hoping to spot something spectacular. Her blue spheres then widened chancing upon the bookstore's magnificent display of recent additions that had come in that week.

Sebastian slipped out a sigh at noticing but let a wry smile through nonetheless. "I see those bluestocking wants are as compelling as ever."

Ciella was too entranced to even grow cross at his words. She just couldn't help herself as she plastered herself to the glass and hungrily gazed at the voluminous stacks. "So... many... books.. just sitting there." She whispered out, in more of a chant if anything.
