Sebastian sat in his office late that night pondering over some leftover paperwork his master had left for the morning.

Though as he worked, something else was deeply bothering him.

"Isn't it obvious? From myself..."

The girl's words had been haunting him all afternoon. They had gone to every place Ciella had wanted to visit and managed to return in time for dinner.

Despite their spat with the reapers, Ciella was grateful to Sebastian for disobeying and taking her outside. She didn't even fuss when they returned to the manor or when he locked her back in her room. Or when he fed her her medicine. It was truly a miracle and Sebastian didn't believe in those. Sighing, he stood from his desk and took off the glasses he wore on the bridge of his nose before lighting a candelabra and left the office to begin his nightly rounds.

But first...

He wandered up to where the girl slept. He had tucked her in hours ago but still, he wanted to check in on her.

Walking up to her room, he quietly opened up her bedroom door to peek in on his young mistress. Inside, he could see that Ciella was curled up under her covers, her face barely peeking out from underneath. All that he could see were the curls peeking out from underneath her covers. Not able to help himself, a ghost of a smile formed on his lips. He couldn't help the thoughts that were running through his mind but just as quickly as they formed, they quickly vanished.

"What is wrong with me? I should not be thinking of her...she's just a mere human, a brat." He said to himself too low for human ears.

Even as he told himself this, he couldn't help but slip into her room through the shadows to watch her sleeping form. Ciella looked so peaceful as she slept, almost like a sleeping kitten. Watching her for a few more minutes, he slipped away once more to prepare for the morning. He knew that his master had a meeting with a few business partners tomorrow and would also put Ciella on lockdown.

By the time Sebastian finished his chores and perpetrations, the sun was already rising to bring in the next day. Running a hand through his hair, he released a sigh before going to prepare breakfast for the master and mistress. Placing the dishes on the cart along with the morning tea, Earl Grey, he headed up the stairs to first awaken his master. Knocking swiftly on the door, he entered. Rolling in the cart into his room, he placed it beside the bed as he strolled over towards the large window that took up the side wall.

"Time to awaken, Young Master." Sebastian's smooth voice rung in the room as he threw open the curtains to allow the sunlight to fill the darken room.

A groan escaped from underneath the covers as Ciel turned away from the light. He always hated waking up in the mornings. "Go away, Sebastian." Ciel said with a low growl.

Ignoring his comment, Sebastian walked over to the cart, pouring him a hot cup of Earl Grey. "You have a busy schedule today. First you have your History lesson, after that your music lesson. You also have your meeting with Mr. Madison about a new product for the company." Sebastian said, continuing to list his busy schedule.

Watching Ciel drink his tea, Sebastian's mind began to wander just for a moment as to when he and Ciella would try to go back into town once more. He had to admit, she made it interesting as she wasn't as bad as Ciel, minus being kidnapped by the annoying reaper. After Ciel had finished his breakfast, he dressed him in a white button up, his black shorts and his green vest. Placing his socks and shoes on, Ciel went off towards his study to wait for Sebastian as he still had to wake Ciella from her slumber. Knocking on the door, he entered into her room, rolling the cart in. Though what he didn't expect was for Ciella to be awake already, she was sitting up in her bed reading one of her new books.

"Good morning Mistress." Sebastian greeting her with a closed eye smile.

"Good morning , Sebastian." She said with a simple nod of her head.

Fixing Ciella her cup of morning tea, Sebastian speared a glance her way. "My master has a meeting with a business partner this afternoon." He told her.

"Which means I must stay in my room...as always." She said as she took the cup into her hands after placing down her book.

"That is correct." He said with a simple nod as he straightened up.

"I will be bringing you your lunch and dinner of the usual time." He told her then watched her shoulders slump disappointedly.

"And here I thought you liked my dishes." Sebastian pouted out, causing Ciella to blush and look up embarrassedly.

"N-No, I do... I was just hoping I could go outside to sketch today...It's so nice out but I already know better than to ask Ciel." She sighed and laid down on her mattress in defeat.

"You mustn't get too greedy. One day caused no harm but too many could prove disastrous." Sebastian frowned disapprovingly before tilting his head to the side. "Does this have something to do with what you told me yesterday?"

Ciella bit her lip and blushed a brighter shade of red."Oh...you remember that?"

The demon rolled his eyes."I know I'm old but I don't forget things. In fact, I can't seem to put your words out of my mind. What exactly did you mean by them?"

"Well....it's one thing to be trapped in your house. It's another to be trapped in your head." She mumbled out sighing then glanced at the demon.

It was clear he wasn't following. He was the living embodiment of chaos itself so to him, a human being trapped was good.

Ciella sighed and turned over to stare at him."You know, you act evil and cruel but there are times you can actually look innocent."

The real look of innocence on Sebastian's face was replaced by his usual fake one with his lips curving up and his eyes mischeviously glinting. "You wound me with your words, Mistress. Aren't I pure of heart and soul?"

"No." She replied flatly. "Not in the least."

His eyes shone with amusement. "Then whatever do you mean?"

"There's times you don't seem to understand something someone says or does."

"Hmm, I suppose there are things even I can't fathom, most of which are human ideals. Money, love, compassion, kindness. I don't need them to survive so I don't understand their usefulness."

"That's what makes us different. All of us. Right?"

"That's a simple way of looking at it. Very human, in fact, but I've come to expect it from your kind." He said with a light smile before turning to place her tray on her lap."Your breakfast, my lady."

Ciella nodded her thanks before digging into her morning meal. She smiled at savoring the food Sebastian had prepared but while she did so, she remembered something he had said.

"So you weren't kidding when you told that man you didn't need love. Isn't that a bit of a lonely statement? I mean everyone's got to have someone. A soul mate."

For a minute, she thought Sebastian was going to ridicule her but she saw him close his eyes and simply smile.

Ah, this girl. She was too much.

Sebastian leaned close at a respectful distance and gave a closed eyed smile. "Hard to have a soul mate when one lacks a soul, mistress."

Ciella blinked but nodded and continued eating. "I see...Sebastian?"

"Yes, Mistress?"

"You're not so bad after all."

Sebastian stood still for a moment in complete puzzlement but that disappeared as he bowed and let a smirk on his lips

"And you're...still a short, fussy, bluestocking."

"Sebastian!!!"
