---------(Nick's pov)---------
I got a new message from Maddie on my phone. When I clicked it, it said; 'I completely understand now...' I didn't understand what it meant until I looked around and saw Maddie standing in front of the corridor that leads to the bathrooms. Right when I looked at her, she bolted into the corridor.
"I'll be right back guys. I need to use the bathroom," I said then I made sure I had my wallet and phone in my pocket and ran towards the bathroom.
--------(Maddie's pov)--------
I ran into the corridor and took a sharp right turn to go down another corridor. I was aiming to make it to the girls bathroom, on my right down the corridor a little, but I just couldn't. I had started crying during the run and my legs gave in. I crashed to the floor against the wall. I continued crying into my pants. I have this rubber band I keep on my wrist incase I couldn't cut and I felt I needed to. I started to pull it away from my skin and let it go. It whipped against my skin. I did it again and again and again. Tears kept rolling down my face. I heard footsteps coming from the corridor I came from but I didn't care. I just wanted to sit here and cry myself to death. I stayed where I was. My phone vibrated and I checked it. A text from Nick read; 'It's not what it looks like,'. I let myself type a reply even though I know I shouldn't have. 'I thought you were my friend but, you're no better than anyone else in our school,' I replied. to that reply I cried even harder pulling the rubber band farther away from my skin. I kept pulling it farther and farther trying to break skin. eventually I pulled to hard and it snapped. I just threw it aside and cried into my hands which were rested on my knees. The footsteps got closer.
"Maddie!" A familiar voice screamed. I didn't look up.
