My Guiding Star

Part Twelve

Niranjana and Ranjan found a secluded table to avoid any disturbance. She had invited only two of her friends and went straight to her friend Sharvika's house in the morning. The news about Sharvika came a big shock to her. It is almost two years since she got married. Since they lost contact with each other, she was in an impression that Sharvika might probably have traveled onsite with her husband. But the fact that she is not living with her husband came a big shock to her. She knew that Sharvika loved her husband deeply and cannot able to imagine the hardship she is facing now.

Ranjan haven't uttered a word since they left from her friend's house. He took her straight to the restaurant. After seeing her seated, he ordered for lunch. Niranjana didn't bother whatever he ordered. She is not able to digest the news. Why in the world all the true love should suffer a broken heart?

"Niranjana, please calm down. It is sad to hear about your friend. We cannot do anything about that except to hope the best for her. One day the guy will understand your friend's heart." Hearing him Niranjana's heart ache increased. She felt as if her wound is plunged open with a sharp knife.

"Oh! Why you guys are always like this. Can't you able to see the real love around you? Why can't you find the person who truly loves you than searching outside? Is it the curse for all us girls? I hate it" she was unaware of what she is saying aloud. The tears she was holding for long time burst out. She is not able to stop crying and don't want to stop crying. Her eyes flooded and spilled again and again as if she wanted to dissolve all her sorrows in that.

Ranjan took both her hands in his and was consoling her. After some time she was able to hear his words "....don't cry Niranjana. Not all guys are like that. Even if they are blind at first they will finally find the true love waiting for them. It will happen to your friend Sharvika too. Don't cry Niranjana. Please don't cry."

Niranjana is shocked to hear such emotion in his voice. She tried to compose herself. 'I don't bother about others finding the true love. But will you able to find mine Ranjan?' she asked him within herself. But she was not aware that her eyes were pleading the same question to him.

"I am sorry Ranjan. I was not able to control myself after hearing about Sharvika. Had she didn't declared her love to him? Or is it necessary for her to declare to him openly? Can't he feel her true love?" she asked him anguished.

"Believe it or Not. We guys wish to hear the declaration of true love. Call us to be thick skulled or egoistic. But we long to hear the love from our beloved. It is our weakness." Niranjana looked at him wide eyed.

Before she tried to say anything, Ranjan raised his hand to stop her "Everyone will find their true love eventually in life. Neither your friend's husband nor I are exception for that. But the time differs for each. I cannot say for others but I will find my love without any delay." His voice laid with determination and Niranjana flushed on the way he is looking at her.

What is the message he is conveying? Had he found her secrets? Is he talking about her? Niranjana felt the shriveled hope flourishing again inside her. She felt as if she got a second chance in life.
