Darker On The Inside

"Alianna it's time to get up! Ali!"

I groaned.. "Yes mother." I hated when she shouted up the stairs to me, but I'd rather her shout up than be in my room.. I reached to my night stand and let my hand claw around for my glasses. I climbed out of bed and went into my bathroom to brush my teeth, and wash my face. I brushed my long brown hair and threw it up, leaving my bangs and some strands down. I then got dressed, throwing on a casual dress and jacket, with my vans. My mother hated when I wore tennis shoes with my dress, but I liked keeping things simple, because well I was simple and average.. I walked to my laptop and threw it in my bag, along with the homework I stayed up late to complete.

"Alianna! You're going to miss the bus!" I ran downstairs, grabbing a granola bar from the kitchen and kissing my mother on the cheek as I struggled to make it out to the bus. It was just about to pull away as I made it out the door.

"Nice going nerd!" A girl said to me as I tripped up the steps getting on, Everyone on the bus began to laugh. Just an average day in my life.. I sat in an empty seat behind the bus driver, and threw in my headphones where I let the tunes of Crown The Empire take me away.

When I got to school I walked to my locker and grabbed my notebooks and text books. Science was first period, and it was the easiest class of my day. We didn't have a bunch of brainy science classes like normal schools, you either had chemistry or you had physical science. I was one of the smarter kids who had chemistry every year, being a Senior in the class again showed I would get an A this year. As I walked in I noticed a new girl talking to my teacher.

"There she is! Ali, come meet Rose Montgomery. She just transferred here from home schooling and she's going to be your lab partner. I was wondering if you could help her out around the school?" I smiled to them both. She looked out of place, like she belonged in a school in New York, or LA. She was gorgeous, with blue-green eyes, and long silky brown hair curled to perfection. She wore tall black stilettos, with leather pants, a leather jacket, and a cut off ACDC shirt.

"Of course I can Miss Lange." Rose came and set her stuff next to mine.

"I like the name Ali, is it short for Alison?" She smiled, trying to be kind.

"No, it's for Alianna. My moms kind of picky in her own unique way."

"I like that, it's really beautiful. My parents are old fashioned, my brothers name is Demetrius, and my name is Rosemary."

"Our parents must've been raised in the 20's."

"Yeah, the 1820's." She giggled out.

"So are you new to the area?"

"No, we've been around for a while. But I decided I no longer wanted to be home schooled, it's very lonely not knowing anyone in town"

"Ohh, is your brother going to be joining you here?"

"No, he doesn't like the crowds here. He's more of the laying low type, kind of like you." I didn't know whether to be offended or take this as a compliment, seeming how she didn't know me from a fly on the wall.

"Oh."

"I don't mean that in a bad way, I like it. The other girls here are really bitchy.." I smiled at her. That's comforting. "Hey, could you show me to my locker?"

"Yeah​, I mean she said to show you around."

"So, have you ever been to club Sin?" Rose asked as if she had already known the answer.

"No, I don't really get out much."

"Would you wanna go with me tonight?" She smiled and I felt like her eyes had pulled the words out of my mouth.

"I'd love too." I knew my mother would be pissed, I wasn't even allowed out at the library after 8. But I had a weird feeling of wanting to be daring. Which is one hundred percent not me. "Do you think you could make up an excuse for me?"

"Yes, of course! Let's go!"

"Go where?? We have school.."

"To my place, duh! You need to have a bit more fun." She dragged me by my arm all the way to the back of the school.

"What if someone sees us?" I asked nervously.

"I can handle it," She smirked the most devilish grin, climbing her way into a big black SUV "Hop on in!" I walked around the vehicle as quickly as I could in fear someone would catch us. As I climbed in I felt like I would be sick, I was so nervous. I had only just met this girl, Miss Lange said show her around the school, not the town!

We were in the car for a good 40 minutes before arriving to a hidden driveway surrounded by trees. As the trees started to clear a huge brick Victorian was revealed. It's was old and tattered, with vines growing up the house and over the windows.

"This is home. Just be as quiet as you can, my parents are asleep in the basement."

"Sleeping at this hour?"

"Yeah​, they're kind of night bats. We own the club, so they're out all night managing it. Demetri will most likely be up, just don't let him get to you. He thinks he's the comedic type, but really he's just an asshole"
