~ Jade ~

Perrie called me. Told me that she loved me and she was hurt. What was she hurt about? She didn't have the right to just turn up and demand for me to come back to England with her for Christmas. If she had called first, I would have happily accepted and we wouldn't be fighting and I'd be over there with her and we'd be happy. I really wanna see her. So I am going for New Years, but I'm not going to talk to Perrie. I'll talk to Debbie and Jonnie. But not Perrie.

~ Perrie ~

I saw the taxi pull up outside the house.

"She's here!" I shouted and ran to the front door. Mum and Jonnie followed. I opened the door and expected Jade to smile that smile that I love and jump into my arms. But you know what she did? She acted like I wasn't there. Like I didn't exist. She just pushed past me and hugged my mum and brother.

"Hiya! I missed you guys!" I heard her say. "Jonnie, do you think you could help me with my bags?" The two pushed past me again and out to the waiting taxi to get Jade's bags. I turned and ran up the stairs, tears on the brink of falling. I heard my mum call after me but I was too humiliated to face anyone. I knew what Jade was doing and why. She was ignoring me because I expected her to come with me to England. I think it's really childish but I still feel hurt by it. I need to get her to forgive me. But I don't know how.

~ The next morning ~

Where's Perrie? No! You're not caring about her, remember. I thought as I stuck my head in the empty living room. I heard talking and laughing in the kitchen and turned on my heel. Last night, Jonnie's friend, Sam, came and stayed. He was quite good looking, but I didn't like guys. I walked into the kitchen and saw the two boys stuffing their faces with pancakes, Debbie frantically trying to make the fast enough for them to eat. Perrie was nowhere in sight.

"Morning!" I chirped.

"Morning!" the three of them replied in unison.

"Mmm, they smell good, Debs!" I said, sitting down beside Sam at the table. He smiled at me and slid his plate with a fresh pancake on in my direction. I smiled my thanks and drizzled some maple syrup all over it. I shovelled it down and Sam handed me seconds.

"I like a girl with a good appetite," he murmured. I smiled then stopped myself. I was taken by Perrie. Stop thinking about Sam!

"So, what do you guys have planned for today?" I asked them, drizzling some more maple syrup on my second pancake. The two boys exchanged glances.

"Well, Perrie had to go to an early meeting this morning so we were wondering if you wanted to come to the park with me and Sam," Jonnie said.

"But it's snowing!" I exclaimed.

"It's more fun with snow," Sam whispers and winks. I giggled then shut myself up by shoving a piece of pancake in my mouth.

"Okay," I said once I swallowed. "I'll come." Jonnie and Sam grinned at each other and we finished our pancakes. I thanked Debbie and raced upstairs to get changed and met the boys downstairs. We said goodbye to Debbie and stepped out into the white snow. It was snowing heavily and we were the only people on the street. Jonnie led the way, me behind him and Sam at the back. A few minutes later, we arrived at a pure white, snow-covered park. I grinned and crouched down to pick up some snow in the gloved hands. I shaped it into a ball and hurled it at the back of Jonnie's head. He yelped and spun around. Sam and I were in hysterics.

"Come on. We're not there yet," he muttered.

"Um, Jonnie? Look around. I think we're here," I said.

"No. I have lived here longer than you, Jade, and I know where the best places are to have snowball fights and building snowmen. And here is not one of them." I rolled my eyes and followed him across the field. We turned the corner and came to a forest. We trudged the the forest until we came to a clearing. I gasped. It was beautiful. It had stopped snowing and the sun was peeking through, glinting off the snowflakes that were settled on the trees. I stood in the middle of the clearing, looking around in awe.

'Settle down with me, cover me up, cuddle me in . . .'

I spun around to find my blonde beauty standing there all wrapped up and singing to me. She walked towards me slowly, looking straight into my eyes and singing. She looked perfect. Sun glinting off the snow on her jacket, beautiful voice filling my ears. She finished and stood in front of me.

"Jade, I'm so sorry for just turning up and expecting you to come with me. I should have called first. I just thought it would be more romantic but I thought wrong. You have all the right to be mad at me. But please, will you forgive me?" Her eyes looked so hopeful and sad, how could I not forgive her? But instead of replying, I grabbed the front of the jacket and crashed my lips onto hers. I felt her lips turn into a smile as she kissed back and I couldn't help but smile too. Nothing could ruin this moment.

Apart from Jonnie and Sam, who thought it was funny to throw several snowballs at us. Perrie and I squealed and ran to the other side of the clearing, snowballs following us. We hid behind the trees.

"Perrie," I whispered. She looked up and I pointed to the snow and then pointed to the boys. She got the hint and bent down, gathering some snow in her hands and making it into a ball. I followed her actions and soon we had a pile of snowballs each. The boys had stopped throwing them and were silent too.

"Perrie," I whispered again. I held up three fingers. "Three. Two. One. Throw!" I mouthed and we threw a snowball each as hard as we could across the clearing. We hid behind the trees as snowballs came back at us.

A few minutes later, we both had ditched out hiding spot and were smashing each other with snowballs in the middle of the clearing. Jonnie had Perrie pinned to the ground and Sam had me over his shoulder and was tickling me.

"This . . . is . . . not . . . part of . . . a . . . snowball fight," I gasped in between tickles. Sam stopped and placed me on my feet.

"Sorry," he muttered.

"I was joking, Sam," I said, placing a hand on his arm. He smiled and my breath caught in my throat. He was beautiful. Perrie squealed from beside us on the ground.

"Jade! Help me!" I snapped my eyes away from Sam and ran for Jonnie, who was crouching over Perrie, bowling him over into the snow and letting Perrie free. I stood up and brushed myself off.

"Well that was fun!" I exclaimed. The other three agreed and we stood there awkwardly for a few minutes.

"Shall we, uh, go back now? I could do with a hot chocolate," Perrie said, breaking the silence. We all agreed and Perrie took my hand, leading us out of the clearing, back through the forest and into the park. It wasn't snowing as much as it was when we came here but there was still no one on the streets. We arrived home and Debbie already had hot steaming cups waiting for us. We stripped off our wet, snowy jackets and boots and sat down at the table, a cup of hot chocolate warming each of us.

"So," Perrie whispered to me. "You still owe me a date." I chuckled.

"I know," I said, smiling.

"When can we have it?" Perrie asked.

"Pez, I have to go back to Stanford in a couple days. So I'm not sure if you wanna wait or have it, like, now," I said. Perrie's silent. She's biting her lip, which means she's thinking.

"Could we have one now and then one when we see each other next?" she asked. I smiled.

"Of course," I said, pecking her lips. She smiled against my lips and kissed back.

"This is the best day of my life," she whispered.

"Me too." I whispered and hugged her.
