Ring, ring, ring is what Lucy hears as she waits for "James" to answer. Lucy mentally cheers knowing that she was able to bypass the block that was stopping her from getting in touch with "James". She continues listening to the rings coming through her phone flowing straight into her ear.
As the last ring comes, it pauses halfway and silence is heard. For a split second Lucy thinks she is about to hear the voicemail process being recited to her; however, what comes next is something she is shocked about.
A voice.
And not just any voice, but a male's voice. If this is "James", then he was not lying about being a boy. That much of what he revealed about himself to her would be true.
The voice repeats itself again grabbing Lucy's attention, "Hello? Who is this?"
Not knowing what to reply, Lucy stuttered, "James? Is that you?"
"Lucy?" "James" guessed.
"It's really you?" Lucy cheered. She couldn't believe "James" was dumb enough to answer an unknown number. She realized that it must be a normal thing for "James" to do though seeing that he replied to her that one time she mistakenly texted him the first time.
"Wow," mumbled "James". "Hey, I gotta go. It was nice talking to you though. Peace."
"Wait!" Lucy shrieked. Before she could say anything else, Lucy saw that the call was ended leaving her staring annoyingly down at her phone screen.
"What the heck just happened?" Lucy muttered.
i had orientation the other day and let me just say this right now, i spotted 3 attractive guys and holy moly that was the only good part of the day. i had to spend about 11 hours at orientation and they were the highlight of the entire day. i was alone for the whole day and had no one to talk to. I'm so antisocial. i just needed to share the news of 3 attractive guys. i signed up for a peer mentor program so imagine if one of them is my mentor
