Oliver POV

We got back to the precinct just before the high schoolers were released from school. My partner and I had a pretty long chat with the principal, vice, and a few counselors. According to their records of the victim, Brandon wasn't as sweet and loving as we heard from his girlfriend. When we entered the office area we went towards the Captain's office.

"What did you get?" He asked putting his phone down. He must've been on the phone with the parents, I thought to myself.

"Well, we visited the crime scene but we didn't get much from there except an awful odor. We also visited the high school."

"Turns out, Brandon wasn't as nice as his girlfriend described him as." I pulled out a printed version of the boy's school record and read aloud, "He's got multiple bullying complaints, teacher complaints, and a lot of other complaints." The Captain shrugged.

"That's not shocking, he is one of the most popular students there not to mention he is a jock. It would be God's miracle to make the popular captain of the whatever sport team a charming and caring guy."

"That's why they're assholes in the movies." Warren added with a smirk. I glared at him for a nanosecond before going back to the profile.

"Parents have also complained about Brandon but the Principal said that he couldn't do much to stop Brandon from teasing the other students. A parent could've gotten mad."

"Do we have any suspects?" The Captain asked.

"Yeah, 42 year old Gregory Chapmann. His son committed suicide two years ago and guess who he blames killed his kid." The Captain answered easily.

"Brandon Smith." Warren and I nodded.

"Alright, check Mr. Chapmann out."

"Yes sir." We said before exiting the Captain's office. We walked out of the office area and towards the elevators again.

"The body and stench is still lingering." Warren said.

"Same here, I just can't seem to erase it."

"I think I'm going to have to move that dinner to tomorrow, I don't think my stomach will be able to take food until then."

"No problem." I agreed. The picture of that boy's parts everywhere haunted my brain, I just wanted to think of something else right now. But, when I tried my nose picked up the smell again and I wanted to vomit.

"You know, I saw Melody when we were at the school." Warren spoke up when we got to the elevators, I pressed the button and looked back at him.

"Really?"

"Yeah, in a class called... AP computer science I think is what it was." Warren said while scrunching his nose, it was a habit he had when he had to think back hard to remember something.

"Yeah, she wants to be a technical analyst when she grows up." I said with a chuckle.

"Wow, she's getting older. It's hard to believe that she's in her last year of high school."

"Yeah, I can't either." I scoffed when I remembered something. "Here's another thing you won't believe, she's taking six AP classes." Warren looked at me with a face that said 'bullshit'.

"No way! I couldn't even handle taking two at the same time." I laughed for a short second.

"Well, Melody isn't a ding dong like you." Warren looked back at the elevator when it dinged indicating that it was about to open.

"Well, look who's talkin' Mr. I have two different colored socks on." I elbowed his arm jokingly.

"Shut up." The silver doors opened and out came 10 officers. We patiently waited for them to exit before we entered.
