12. Birthday Surprise (PG-13)

SCOTT'S POV

*A week later*

Avi has been slightly distant since he confronted me about his feelings. We still spend one-on-one time together, and watch GoT together most nights, but he never sits close to me like used to. He seems to be struggling with accepting his sexuality. When I brought up the topic, he brushed it off again and said he's dealing with it by himself. I want nothing more than to kiss him again and hold him, but I have to give him time to accept his attraction to guys, and hopefully, his attraction to me.

Tomorrow is Avi's birthday and I suggested throwing a surprise party for him tonight after our show. Esther and I have been planning every tiny detail of it, and I'm exhausted, but so excited for it. I hope Avi loves it, and it takes his mind off everything he's dealing with.

AVI'S POV

"The energy tonight was insane" I told Scott as we started walking backstage after our show. The rest of band and crew walked ahead while I waited with Scott in the hallway as he tied his shoelaces. When we walked into the lounge area, it was completely dark and quiet.

"Huh, that's str-"

"SURPRISE" everyone yelled as Scott turned the lights on.

I looked around startled, and saw the entire crew smiling happily at me. The room was decorated with streamers and balloons. One of the tables was filled with trays of barbecue, drinks and snacks. I could tell this was all Esther's planning.

"Es, thank you" I exclaimed embracing my older sister tightly.

"Thank Scott too, all this was his idea. I'm not that nice of a sister" she sassed.

"Scott? The party was his idea?"

She smiled and nodded.

I felt overwhelmed by his kindness. I don't think anyone has ever done something this nice for me. I walked towards Scott and pulled him away from the food tray.

"Could you tell we were planning a party? I'm so glad we pulled off the surprise. Wait, where are you taking me?" he asked as I pulled him into an empty dressing room.

Instead of answering him, I pushed him against the wall and leaned up to smash my lips against his. He kissed me back with equal passion, gripping my waist tightly. I pulled back slightly, biting his lower lip and making him groan. I led us to the couch, still kissing him. I gently pushed him back so he lay flat on the couch, and I hovered over him. After a minute of slow and passionate kisses, I pulled back and kissed his jaw gently. He opened his eyes and smiled at me. His beauty so up close made my breath hitch.

"Hi" he whispered sweetly.

"You're beautiful" I pecked him lightly on the lips.

"Thank you for the party. It's perfect" I smiled at him.

"I'm so glad you liked the surprise. Speaking of which, we should get back to it before everyone gets suspicious".

I climbed off him.

"You go ahead, I'll be there in a minute" Scott blushed, avoiding my gaze.

That's when I realised he had a very prominent bulge in his jeans.

"Uh- right, okay. I'll see you in a bit" I responded rushing out of the room.

After Scott returned to the party, we cut the cake and everyone sang Happy Birthday to me. The cake had gummy bears in it, which I loved.

After a few more hours of drinking and hanging out, we retired to our bunks. I was still buzzing with energy from the entire night. When I went to see Scott in his bunk, he was still awake, laying down and scrolling through twitter.

"Hey" he smiled at me, stifling a yawn.

"You look tired".

"Hmm I am" he responded, patting the space next to him, gesturing for me to join him.

I lay down, resting my head on his chest and intertwining our legs. I kissed his neck softly as he held me in his arms.

"I love spending time with you, Scotty".

He kissed the top of my head and said, "I love spending time with you too".

After a pause, Scott softly asked, "What are we, Avi?"

"I don't know what we are, but I know that I have strong feelings for you, you beautiful boy." I kissed he him and pulled back with a smile

My response seemed to please and reassure him. After a few minutes of cuddling, Scott fell asleep holding me, his breathing evening out. I placed a kiss on his chest before drifting off.
