SCOTT'S POV
A few days after Avi and I wrote the lyrics for 'Cracked', we arranged it with Ben. The arranging session went very smoothly, and all the parts fit together beautifully. This was the first completed song we had for the original album besides Can't Sleep Love. I should song write and arrange with Avi more often. With Avi the whole process is just so different... It's intense, passionate and emotional- just like him. Somehow he just brings out the thoughtful, reflective and deep side of me. I can't wait to write and arrange another song with him for the original album.
AVI'S POV
Spending so much one-on-one time with Scott these past few days has been unexpectedly great. Usually we'd only hangout in a group and talk about Pentatonix related stuff. The two of us have never been too close or spent one-on-one time because we're just so different from each other. Scott likes being in the spotlight and he's Pentatonix's unofficial spokesperson, whereas I'm more comfortable doing the listening and letting the other band members speak. He likes drinking and clubbing a lot, while I prefer a quiet night in by myself or with few close friends. Our taste in music is completely different too.
I never expected to form a closer bond with Scott, but after we had a heart-to-heart and wrote the lyrics for Cracked, I've started to feel a lot closer to him. I'm really proud of how Cracked has turned out, we're a great pair for song writing. I also feel like Scott and I know each other a lot better now. We've had so many heart-to-hearts, and I comfort him when he's sad about his break up with Alex. He said that while Mitch is like his brother, he's never been great at providing emotional support. Mitch has more of a tough love approach, and can best help Scott by dragging Alex, which I guess is helpful too.
Tomorrow, we leave for the On My Way Home tour, and I'm so excited! We're pushing our limits and going a lot bigger this tour. This tour will also be a lot busier because we plan to arrange and record songs for the original album, so we can release it by October. Somehow I can't wait to write another song with Scott. It's something I'm really looking forward to.
