Chapter 24: Endgame

Zeke P.O.V

       This year have been super weird. Someone fell in love. Someone fell apart. Someone got hurt. Someone got framed. Someone's still figuring himself out. Ever since I heard that there were history between Nicole and Noel, I've been thinking about it. I love Nicole but I never felt that she really does love me. I know for sure that Noel has feelings for Rihanna but maybe there's still some left for Nicole. And about Nicole, remember when Noel's at the student government meeting and Nicole said that we should interview Noel, the sparkle and admiration in her says a lot now.
    
     Marge and Jane are together. Nicole likes Noel. Noel likes Rihanna and Jane. I love Nicole. Rihanna loves me. It's possible for Nicole and Noel to have a happy ending though I don't think I'll have a happy ending with Nicole. Maybe this story isn't really about me. Maybe it's about the others. Maybe I'm just an opening act and the others is the main event. Maybe I'm just part of their story.

      Robert has been suspended for blackmailing Jane. We didn't tell them about Robert sexually harassing Noel. Noel didn't want to make the issue bigger. We just hope Robert won't do anything bad anymore.

     "Zeke?" I turned to the voice that called me. "Hey.. what's up?" I smiled at Nicole. "Can we talk?" She sat down next to me. "You and Noel are dating?" I started. "Yeah. I'm sorry for everything; the pretending, the forced commitment, the pain I caused and the promise we made." She apologized.

       The last part made me chuckle. "Don't be sorry about the promise we made. I enjoyed it. I should be thanking you." I admitted. "I should be thanking you. If it weren't for you talking to me, Noel and I wouldn't hang out again. I'm sorry I took that chance to be with someone else." She said. I took her hand and kissed it. "It's okay. I'm just happy that you both find your way back to each other." I told her. "You're a sweet guy, Zeke. Any girl would be lucky to have you. I was. Even for a short time. Open up your heart. Don't close it yet because I'm pretty sure that the girl who'll make a permanent reservation in there will come in less than twenty seconds. I gotta go. Bye." She kissed me on the cheek and left.

     "Zeke?" I looked at Rihanna behind me. "Is that seat taken?" She asked me. "Why would you take a seat if you could just take my heart?" I asked her. "I don't want to take your heart. I just want to be in it." She said and sat next to me. "You've been in my heart since day one." I told her. "Well, I must be in the 'love as a sister' section." She joked. I laughed along with her.

    "So Jane and Marge. Nicole and Noel. Robert and suspension. What about me and you?" She asked. "Are you asking me to be your boyfriend?" I teased her. "I guess I am." She looked at me hopefully. "You know it should be the other way around." I told her. She looked at me with a disapproving look. "The boy shouldn't be the only one working to get the girl. The girl can also work on how to get the boy. It's not based on gender you know. It can be girl to girl. It can be boy to boy. It's love." She said. "Yes." I said. "Yes what?" She looked at me with a confused look. "I'll be your boyfriend." I grabbed her face and kissed her full of emotions. "I love you Rihanna." I said in between kisses. "I love you Zeke."
