Chapter 14: Cheer Up

Nicole wants us to be a secret. Is there even an us? If someone wants to keep their dating life a secret, it would be me! Like seriously, what does she have to lose when she gets seen with me? It's not like she has a reputation to uphold. I have a reputation to uphold! This selfish nerd!

"Because you know.. you have a great reputation that I didn't want to ruin." she continued.

By selfish nerd, I mean considerate, thoughtful and incredibly sexy nerd.

"Oh is that what you really want? Are you honestly okay with that?" I asked her cautiously.

"Of course." she smiled sweetly. "As long as I know you're mine, I'm perfectly fine with it."

I looked at her eyes. There's guilt and nervousness in them. Looking at her, I kind of feel bad now. I don't want to force her to something she doesn't like. Does she really want to be with me? Because I really want to be with her. And there's something more in her eyes I couldn't decipher.

After our "date", she went home by herself because she doesn't want to risk people seeing her with me. I wouldn't even call it a date to be honest. We only talked about the rules and the ways on how are we gonna make things work. Will this be worth it? I don't think that I could make Nicole be happy with me or worse, I don't think she can make me happy too. Now who's being selfish, Zeke? You're even lucky that she gave you a chance.

I'm currently sulking in my room. My white walls are representing what I feel right now. Emptiness. I'm feeling so dull and incomplete. How can I fill this emptiness inside of me? Just when I was gonna drown in this sorrow, the doorbell rang. Now who could that possibly be? It better be important. Oh who am I kidding, I badly need the company of someone right now.

I went downstairs and open up the door. "Hello.." Rihanna shyly greeted me while clutching a box of pizza. "Hi what's up?" I said while opening the door widely for her to come in. "I thought you may need something to cheer you up so I got pizza for you.. or for us, you know if you want to share with me." blush appeared on her cheeks."You think pizza can cheer me up?" I asked teasingly. She seemed to get the idea and started teasing too. "Well what can cheer you up?" she played with my hair biting her lower lip but suddenly her expession turned sad. "Hey what's wrong?" I hugged her. "Are you being like this to me because Nicole did something to upset you?" I looked at her curiously then asked her "Did you know Nicole upset me that's why you came?" she nodded slowly and pouted. "How?" I asked her. "Jane and I were at her car driving around then I saw Nicole leaving you upset so I figured I can cheer you up." she explained. "I appreciate this Riri but I don't want you to feel that I'm only allowing this because I'm upset with Nicole." I told her. "Well come on! The pizza's getting cold." she said and dragged me to my room.

While we eat the pizza, we talked and fooled around just like old times. "I miss being here." she said looking around my room. "I don't. This room is plain as freak." I complained. "We could give it a make over! Let's meet again tomorrow to get some materials. I gotta go. Bye Bye! I love you." she said and gave me a kiss on the cheek and went for the door. "Bye take care." I waved goodbye. Being with Riri is kind of refreshing. I missed her. I can't wait for tomorrow.
