"...Mr detective..."She smiled, reminded me of a red rose.
It managed to shimmer before it faded. Before it wilted.
Before......she died.
"It seems......I win again..."She said weakly.
It ached.It did ache.
My heart was like being cut with a knife. It cut piece by piece. Every cut it took wasn't deep. Every cut it took wasn't hunk but small and torturing me. Every cut it took was superficial but it hurt.
My heart hurt.
The ache was like a disease. The same as the disease, it's spreading slowly and haunted me deeply.
"But......I can't......win you again anymore......"She cupped my cheek with one hand as she managed to smile and spoke. Her white wedding dress was covered in blood and her wound kept bleeding.I held her close to my chest and tightened my arms. Her body was trembling and she snuggled her head deep down to my chest.
Tears started to stream down from my face and I managed to hold it. She needs an operation, there's no time for crying. I shut my eyes and took a deep breath and carried her.We were on the way to the nearest hospital.
"Shu...shu...y-you will be alright, Victoria. Keep your words and say again to me tomorrow. W-we are almo-"
My voice cracked when I said every single word. She heard and chuckled slightly, and she shook her head as she put her finger on my lips to stop me saying."I want to......Sherlock but......I can't."
"Thank you......Sherlock.T-that I could... be your bride...even just for an hour."
Her hand lifted down.
Her eyes shut down.
It all happened in just a moment, which fills with silence, which seemed endless to me.
And that's what I knew...
This time,
she is dead.
This time,
she is truly gone from my side.
And, gone forever.
