Driving down the coastal highway in Los Angeles is a dream come true. Come to find out my dad has a convertible and is cooler than I thought. The sun is reflecting brightly off the front of the car. I put on my Ray Bans and relaxed. I ran my hands through my long golden hair and I let the wind take control of it.
"So here's the house," Ken says as we pull into the driveway.
"Holy crap!" The house is huge and looks like something you'd see in a movie, which you probably have considering I'm in Los Angeles.
I pushed the huge glass door open and my jaw dropped in disbelief. The ceilings are really high and the house is super modern. All the kitchen appliances are stainless steel and all the furniture and walls are white.
"Your room is up there. I hope you like it. No more pink paint and butterflies. I miss my little girl."
"Dad!" I feel my cheeks turn red. I sprint up the stairs, excited to see what's inside. I slowly open the door, but I can't resist the urge to fling it open, so I do. My new room is amazing! The walls are painted turquoise and right above my bed is a Maverick surfboard!
"You can take it down and use it if you want."
"Thank you so much dad!" I run to him and give him a huge hug, like I would of 3 years ago. I set my suitcase on my bed and unzip it. I dig through my bag to find my favorite bathing suit. It's a Roxy bikini that has silver accents. I made sure to shut and lock the door before changing. I slipped on my bathing suit and pulled my new surfboard off the wall. I grabbed a towel I found in my drawer and headed down the stairs.
I walked outside and rubbed sunscreen over my perfectly tanned skin. I headed down the old wooden steps to the beach. I was looking at my pedicure while walking, not paying attention to what was ahead of me. And then I felt like I hit a wall. I look up and see blue eyes. His blue eyes.
