"Jay can we talk in private please?" I said.

"Sure," he said with a puzzled look on his face.

We walked over to behind an ice cream cart.

"So I was having a nice talk with Ava and she just mentioned to me that you were her boyfriend," I said.

"Oh my god! Okay so we dated like two years ago and I guess she still doesn't want to let me go!" Jay said frustratedly.

"Oh I'm sorry Jay. I didn't know."

"It's okay Ellie. I know you didn't know. But do you know what I do know?"

"What do you know?" I said with a smirk because I knew what he was going to say.

"That I love you," he said.

He leaned in and kissed me gently on my lips. He turned my body to make sure that Ava saw.

"And one more thing. Be careful around Ava. Please, for me."

I went back over to Ava and she had an aggravated look on her face. I didn't ask her what was wrong because she already knew that I knew what was making her mad.

We packed up our stuff and headed out to my car. Ava didn't say a word to me all the way home, she just made little noises trying to intimidate me or to get something out of me or who knows what. I pulled up to her house. It was smaller than mine, but still big enough to earn you party creds in Los Angeles.

"Bye Ava," I said, trying to sound as snobby as possible.

"Ya whatever," she retorted back even snobbier.

What a day! I'm excited for tonight! I was supposed to go out with Ava, but looks like I'm going to be going out with Jay instead. No complaints there!
