"Oh...umm...hi! Jay right?" I'm always at a loss for words when I see him. "Damn girl, pull yourself together," I whispered under my breathe.

"Haha. Ya, Ellie right?" he giggled.

"Ya. I'm going surfing if you want to join. Nice board!"

"Haha thanks and I'd love to."

We headed out to the clear water and jumped in. He splashed me playfully, but I don't even notice because I'm distracted by his looks. And I mean his abs are an added bonus! We paddled out pretty far, so that my arms hurt and I could see a wave building in the distance.

"One....two....three!"

We paddled furiously back to shore, occasionally looking back to see when the waves were going to break. I pulled my knees up onto my board and cautiously stood up. I kept my balance for a minute or so, but then I plunged deep into the water.

"Ellie? Are you okay?"

"Jay! Help!"

He propped me up on my board and paddled me back to shore. The pain from the fall was intolerable and the corner of my vision was starting to go black. Then suddenly my vision was completely gone and I blacked out.

When I become conscious again, the first thing I saw was Jay comforting me. I was laying on my towel and Jay's towel was carefully wrapped around me.

"Ellie! I was so worried."

"It's my first time out on the big waves," I said embarrassedly.

"It was the most graceful fall I've ever seen," he smirked.

"Shut up!" I punched him in the arm playfully. "So why are you in Los Angeles?"

"Well I'm a dedicated surfer and I come here every summer. The city just draws you back in. Ya know? Why are you here?" he asked.

"My dad is a music agent and I haven't seen him in 3 years. I'm here with my brother Sam. I think you two would get along. So do you want to go inside and get some food? I'm starving!" I exclaimed.

"Sure, let's go!"

We walked up the steps to my house and entered through the back door. I grabbed two waters out of fridge and handed him one. I pulled out the bread, turkey, lettuce, tomato, and mayo. I made us both a sandwich and while we were halfway through eating them I heard the front door open.

"My dad's home! Go out the back door and wait outside." I told him. "Hey dad!"

"Who was that?"

"Um...no one!?"

"Ellie, I saw a person go out the back door!"

"Ugh...fine! It was Jay okay! I met him on the plane and I ran into him at the beach and I wiped out and he saved me!" I muttered fastly.

"Did he hurt you? Are you okay?"

"No, he didn't hurt me. And yes, I'm fine." I look out the back door and I can see the outline of Jay's arm.

"I know a Jay!" he says with a scowl."He's an amazing surfboarder and had multiple, well-known sponsors, but blew his opportunity because he got arrested! I don't want you hanging around with that kid!"

"But dad!"

"No, and that's my final decision!"

I turn to see Jay standing in the door, but he's already gone.
