I wake up and rub my eyes, realising I forgot to close my curtains last night. I pull on my dressing gown, and when I open the door I see a note posted on the it.
Taking P and Q to Nursery, be ready at 10 for the meeting with your care worker. S and R x
I'd forgotten about the meeting, I suppose Sadie (my care worker) just wants to check how I am after my outburst at school. I pour myself some cereal and put on the next episode of Girl meets World, happy to be home alone. After breakfast I take a shower, and decide to put my hair in Dutch braids. I pull on my Boy Meets World sweatshirt and a pair of leggings, not really bothered about looking my best.
After that I don't really have anything to do, so I just wander round the house and snack. (Yes I know I just had breakfast, but I boredom eat).
Suzy and Richie pick me up at 10, and we take the back roads to Sadie's office, traffic's terrible. When we get there, we ring the doorbell, and Sadie's dog greets us by barking as loud as possible.
"Hi Tigger!" I say.
Sadie appears in the doorway, and shows us in. We sit down opposite her, the desk in between us. I glance around the office, noticing that she's added a new photo to her wall. It's of her and Tigger. Sadie's office is incredibly neat, which is to be expected, as she is well put together and organised. Her ginger hair is in a French twist, and she's wearing jeans, a plain white blouse and a blazer.
"Well, long time no see you guys!" Sadie exclaims.
"It's great to see you again Sadie." I say.
"It's good to see you too T," she replies, "But unfortunately there's going to be some changes made."
"What do you mean?" I ask.
"I've been talking to Suzy and Richie, and we've agreed what the best thing for everyone is to do." She says.
"What have you decided? Is someone new coming?" I ask.
"T. There's a particularly troubled set of siblings, 3 of them, who need a foster home that can help them come to terms with their new lives." She says quietly. "We thought, considering the progress you've made, that Suzy and Richie will be the best people to help them."
"Well, I'm always up for getting to know new people, I'm sure they'll be great." I say confidently.
"T," Sadie pauses. "Remember our rule about the ratio of kids to adults in a house?"
Oh. 1 adult, 2 kids. 2 adults, 5 kids.
"Oh." I manage to say.
"T, you've made great progress, but we're thinking maybe it's time for you to come back to the care home, and maybe find a permanent home?" She suggests.
"Sure." I choke out.
"I'm glad you're not too upset sweetie." Suzy says, and rubs my lower back. "We'll stay in touch, and I'm sure you can visit us all!"
"Yeah." I whisper. "Yeah."

Ooohhhh plot twist! What happens in the near future may be a bit predictable though! x
