Chapter 13

The day isn't quite finished though! Me and Sabrina have been getting to know each other and hanging out for about a month now, and it's been great, I've loved every second of it. When I get back, there's a letter waiting for me on the kitchen table. Mike says someone special came by, and wanted to catch me, but had somewhere to be, and had to go. I carefully open the envelope and unfold the letter.
Dear T,
For the last month or so, we have been getting to know each other, and I've come to realise that I really, really like you. You're so kind and friendly and sarcastic, with the biggest heart I've ever known, especially for someone in your position. I hope you like me as much as I like you. Happy Birthday Theresa O'Marr, I'd like to adopt you. If it's okay with you, of course.

I look up at Mike, Sadie and Saph, and they're all grinning. My jaw drops.
"You guys all knew didn't you?" I ask.
"Yep. How do you feel about that?" Poppy says.
"I'd love it!!" I squeal.
"Obviously we'd have to go through the process, making sure the conditions and everything are right, there's background checks to do, but at a push we can probably get you moved in by the end of the month!" Sadie says.
"Oh I'm so happy for you!" Saph says, and engulfs me in a hug.
"Me too T." Sadie says and rubs my back.
I call Suzy and Richie to tell them the news.
"Oh T that's great! I'm so happy! Do you want to tell Polly yourself!" Richie says.
"Yeah, just put her on the phone." I reply.
"Hello?" I hear Polly's voice.
"Hi Poll!" I say.
"T! When are we going to see you again?" She exclaims.
"Hopefully before I leave." I reply.
"What do you mean, leave?"
"Polly I'm getting adopted!" I squeal.
"Oh. That's great T. Will you still visit me?" She asks.
"Of course I will!"
"Are they nice?" She enquires.
"Well, it's just one lady, and she's ever so nice!" I say.
"Will you still be able to see Sabrina?" She says.
"That's the best part - Sabrina's adopting me!"
"You're being adopted by SABRINA CARPENTER?" She shouts.
"Yes! But there's no need to deafen me."
"Sorry. But that's so exciting!"
"I know. Listen, I've got to go, but I'll see you soon, okay?"
"Okay. Bye T!"
"Bye Polly!" I say, hanging up.
I can't believe I'm finally going to be adopted! By someone I love so much! But this month is going to be a busy one for Sabs, with all the paperwork for me.
