I cursed under my breath, then suddenly the shaking stopped, I looked at Nina "are you alright?" I asked, she nodded. I looked at Xavier and he stood straight, I walked toward the door, moving behind him and heading outside. I looked at the ground and my eyes widened again, there was a large crack in the ground, it was very wide, and deep. Looking down into the crack was only darkness, the only thing that came out of it was a black smoke. I looked across the crack and saw people coming out of their homes and looking at the crack, some people that were walking down the path stood on the edge and leaning forward to get away from it. I looked down the crack and saw that the palace was torn in two,
Oh, please let them be alright.
I thought, I heard Xavier walk out along with my sister, I looked back at them. "The prophecy has come true, the only thing that is missing are the monsters and human hybrids." Xavier put a hand on my shoulder, "I apologize, I thought he would wait for me to come back with your mother before he went inside, I honestly didn't know this would happen." I shook my head, "no its not your fault, you have no reason to apologize, but I think everyone in the village would like to know why you are here and why your friend went inside the Temple." He sighed again, "back where we come from there is a different legend about the Sister Temples. Its said that if the last male of the Albu family goes inside the temple with the last woman of the Rein family that a large treasure would emerge from inside. He just asked me to come along since I knew the last female of the Rein family, well I did until I met you two." I nodded, "well which one did he go to?" He rubbed the back of his neck, "the Temple for Arvyntyr the God of the Sea." I nodded, "then lets go. We can go inside now that the crack has already happened." I started walking and Xavier followed, Nina jogged up and grabbed my hand. I stopped and leaned down, "here get on my back." She nodded and climbed onto my back. We continued to walk until we made it to the edge of the village where the path to Arvyntyr's Temple sits.
Walking along the path Xavier jogged up to me, "what kind of monsters would be coming out of the crack?" I shook my head, "I don't know, and who really knows if they will come out of the crack in the crust but what the crack would have effected the city that lies underneath our village. It is said that the old city didn't just have people arguing but had creatures living underneath. Maybe what the Mage meant was that the monsters would come from underneath the old city, and turn us into the hybrids. Though, who knows if it is them that turns us, or some kind of magic from the city. I only know what the prophecy entails, not what it really means." He sighed, "well, what if all of you would become hybrids, what then?" I took a deep breath, "then we would not only be known for our Temples, but also for the monster people we are. Which means people would be scared to come here afraid for their lives, so we would likely die off. Unless people react differently, or the Gods and Goddesses would look after us." He gave me a strange look, "Gods and Goddesses plural?" I nodded, "yes, the God of the Sea and the Goddess of the Moon aren't the only beings we believe in around here. There is also the God of the Sun, which looks after most of the other gods and goddesses, there are many, too many to name off." He looked at the ground, "damn you people are really religious aren't you?" I shook my head, "not all of us, some are more religious than others, we have grown to believe different things. But all of us are taught to give the gods and goddesses offerings on the day of the 7th moon, some people pray to them every night, and some people just look up to them for support. It's just the way things are now. Of course, the Gods of the Sun and Sea along with the Goddess of the Moon are the oldest that are believed in." He nodded as we reached the Temple. "We're here." I said while stopping and looking up at the Temple. There were golden engravings, and different symbols around the Temple. Though none that I could read. The doors opened and I put down Nina grabbing her hand, a man walked out of the Temple, he walked sporadically and he seemed to be scared.
"Demetri?" I hear Xavier say, the man turned towards him. "I'm sorry Xavier, I tried to wait for you, but I needed to see for myself if there really was a treasure." I shook my head, "there is no treasure in there for you. That is the Temple of the God Arvyntyr, a Temple that has been cursed. If either heir of the Albu family or the Reid family go inside this Temple or the Goddesses' Temple the a crack would appear in the Earth's crust, and we would all turn into monster human hybrids." he stared at me, "n-no way, that cant be true." Xavier tensed up, "its true. The crack has already occurred." Demetri looked at Xavier, "oh shit..."
