We heard the news. None of us said anything, as if processing all the information we heard. Zinny shed some tears unbelieving of what happened to them.
"Do you really think it's true? ", Zinny asked.
"We don't know, Zinny. Let's just wait." I told her. She was still sobbing, clearly upset with the news.
Isang araw matapos kaming bumalik sa Dome, masaya kaming nagkukwentuhan sa pantry nung lunchtime namin.
Kami ang nauna dahil pinalabas kami nang maaga ni Sir Samuel dahil kailangan na niyang magpahinga. Naintindihan naman namin dahil sa nagpapalakas pa siya nang katawan.
Nung dumating na ang ibang team, napansin namin na parang may nabawas sa kanila. Sabi nila, hindi raw nakasurvive ang iba sa HQ.
"But it's nothing compared to what happened to Team Sierra", sabi nang isang recruit sa kabilang table. He was referring to Tarquin's team. "Lahat sila maliban kay Tarquin hindi nakasurvive. Buti nga kayo, walang nawala sa inyo".
"What?! " Lahat kami nagulat.
" Yes, we heard that from our teacher."
"Oh my God!", tanging nasambit ni Aloutte.
None of us were really friends with Tarquin, but still, we felt sad for him. Then I remembered Orielle. She and Tarquin were kind of close. I wonder what she's thinking or doing kapag nabalitaan niya ito.
Then, everyone fell silent as Tarquin entered the pantry. He went to their table, face down. He was alone, walang ibang kasama which means totoo ang narinig namin. He never looked at us. Just on the table, his face downcast.
Slowly, our team stood up and went to him. We gave our condolences. Zinny hugged her, saying sorry with tears in her eyes. Tarquin was surprised.
"Thank you", he said sadly.
Isang malakas na palakpak ang narinig namin. It was Thanos again and his goons. He probably heard what happened and wants to torment Tarquin.
"Buhay ka pa pala", he said, sneering. "Loser!"
"Says the one who was knocked out by Tarquin in one hit", Aloutte said.
Thanos glared at Aloutte but she did not flinch. She gave Thanos the same look he gave her.
He turned his attention back to Tarquin.
"Go away, Thanos. Nobody wants you here", I said.
"But I want to be here", he smiled evilly. "Besides, I haven't seen Tarquin for a while. I just want to check if he's okay. Baka nga gusto na niyang umuwi eh" . His goons laughed.
I saw Tarquin's fist clenched. I tapped his back as Zinny told him to ignore Thanos.
"I heard they all died. What did you do at nabuhay ka? Sayang, you should have--", Thanos was not able to finish what he was going say.
Orielle who appeared out of nowhere just punched him in the face and his nose bled.
"How dare you! ", sabi niya. Orielle was wearing the same gray uniform as us kaya siguro akala ni Thanos na recruit din siya. Even his goons was surprised too.
" Do you know who I am? If my father knew about this, you'll be sorry, you stupid army!"
Binigwasan uli siya ni Orielle. He lost his balance but his goons was able to support his back kaya hindi siya natumba. Lalong lumaki ang mata niya sa galit at gulat na hindi natakot si Orielle sa kanya.
"The reason why we are called with our first names here and not the last name is to make it clear that no idiot like you should use their family's influence or position para maghari-harian dito. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN KAHIT KAYO PA ANG MAY-ARI NANG BOUNG DOME!", her last words echoed all over the place the before it was filled with gasped as she punched Thanos one more time rendering him unconscious.
One of the trainers who heard the commotion arrived. He looked angry as he saw Thanos being supported by his teammates just so he would not fall to floor. Hindi madrawing mukha niya sa galit as if he was going to burst habang nililibot niya paningin niya kung sinong may gawa.
But when his look fell to Orielle and her bloody fist, his face quickly changed from being angry to scared. His eyes circled with fear.
"You better discipline your students or I will discipline you myself. We both know you don't want that, right?", Orielle said smiling but her voice full of threat.
"Y-y-yes! This won't happen again. I apologize", he said bago siya nagmamadaling umalis kasunod ang mga recruits niya na inaalalayan pa rin ang walang malay na si Thanos.
Pati kami nagulat rin. Bakit takot kay Orielle ang trainer? I saw Aloutte raised her eyebrows.
"The show is over, people. Bumalik na kayo sa tsismis nyo kay Tarquin", sabi ni Orielle sa mga nanonood sa pantry.
Their guilty faces proved how right Orielle is. Yumuko sila and whispered to each other.
Orielled looked at Tarquin as if nothing happened. Pinausog niya si Zinny sa umupo sa tabi ni Tarquin. "Eat this", utos niya as he handed him something.
It was a chocolate. She was about to say something when another voice boomed throughout the place.
"ORIELLE!"
"Uh, uh", Orielle said.
For the first time, Tarquin smiled. "Not your lucky day, huh?"
Bumilog ang mata ni Orielle. "You knew they were here and you didn't tell me?"
"I just knew. They talked to me before I came here. How was I supposed to tell you? "
Orielle scrunched up his face."I so hate you", sabi niya bago siya padabog na tumayo at naglakad papunta sa lalaking tumawag sa kanya. Nasa pintuan ang lalaki at di ko masyadong maaninag ang mukha niya but he was well built, intimadating ang dating. He have this aura that commands attention and respect.
Tinawanan lang siya ni Tarquin. "It's not my fault", he called.
Inirapan niya si Tarquin bago siya lumabas nang pantry kasunod nang lalaki.
