The days leading up to today were no different than day one of waiting.
Tonight there were no incoming flights so we decided to go out instead.
Alex had suggested it. And when I agreed Cass and Natalie gave in.
"Who's ready to get drunk legally!" Alex shouted causing the group to laugh.
We used to get in trouble all the time for going to bars with fake IDs and we always ended up in a fight or too drunk to function.
We went to the bar that our group ended up rocking the karaoke. None of us were good singers except for Jackson. Even though his voice was nice, he didn't know how to use it so it still sounded like shit.
But let me tell you, we were hot stuff that night. The life of the bar was in our hands and we were using it to our advantage. The loud cheering pulled people in off the streets and we took that place from a poor excuse of a bar to a celebrity night club.
When we were seated in the bar, we were all pleasantly surprised at how business was booming. The man that owned the place came over."Hey girls! I haven't seen y'all in a long time!"
"Hey Jethro," we all said in unison.
"How are them boys doing?" he smiled.
None of us answered; just sort of got quiet. He frowned, "they still ain't back yet?"
Alex shook head to answer and the old man just frowned.
Whenever I talked to Jethro with the girls I always felt like we were apart of Charlie's Angels, only Jethro's Angels. We always talked in unison and we were really happy around him. He was a great man and really quirky.
"Well I hope some karaoke will take your mind off them trouble makers," he winked.
"Sure thing Jethro," we all said together drawling out the Jethro.
See what I mean about the Charlie's Angels thing?
I was two beers into the night and wasn't nearly drunk enough to go on the stage and sing. The singers were horrible but no one cared. Even the sober people clapped and cheered.
"I'll be back," Alex said with an evil grin.
I didn't like that look mixed with those words. I knew she would come back with something that was going to taste disgusting and would probably make me puke.
If she brought me any Jäger I was going to throw it in her face.
Which is of course what she came back with. "I have Jäger bombs!" she said excitedly.
I groaned and stared at the nasty substance that had cursed me the first time I was here as well. They taste worse coming up then going down.
"Take the damn shot. Be spontaneous!" Alex commanded.
"Jäger is never a good thing," I grumbled taking the shot from her grasp and downing it in one fluid motion.
I coughed profusely and was nearly crying afterwards. I hate black licorice so this wasn't a good liquor for me.
"I think I'm going to die," I choked.
"Don't be so dramatic!" Alex said excitedly.
If only I could follow after Cass and Natalie, who discretely poured there's into a nearby plant that was never there before.
Now I definitely had a ticket for a one way train to drunk town. Thankfully I wasn't feeling it yet, but soon enough I would be singing horrible drunk lyrics to strangers.
Cass and Natalie decided to be brave and sing a song together despite both being completely sober. They jumped onto the stage and started pouring their hearts into Joan Jett's I Love Rock'n'Roll.
"Oh gosh they are horrible," I laughed.
"Yeah but we aren't much better and we're next," she smirked.
In the midst of our friends squaking two guys found their way to our table. A blonde one sat next to Alex and on with brown hair sat next to me.
"So, how are you girls?" blondie asked.
Alex smiled."Doing pretty good until you showed up."
"Aw babe, don't be that way," the brown haired guys said.
His breath was insanely bad and I almost gagged. "I think you need a mint kid," I said snarkily.
"Well aren't you feisty," he grinned twirling a piece of my hair.
I slapped his hand away and was just about to punch him in the nose before the DJ was calling up Alex Ann and Amber Roslyn. We stood from our chair with smiles on our faces.
"Why don't you sing us a song darlin'?" gingivitis asked.
"Oh definitely," I winked with a sarcastic smile.
We walked up and looked at the book of songs. Nothing was sounding good, we needed either a sexy song or one of those songs that makes everyone one say 'you just got served!'.
"Hey you know that show we used to watch that stopped airing really quickly for a Nickelodeon show?" Alex said happily.
"Um Victorious?"
"Yeah! That one! Remember when the annoying perky brown haired girl and the amazing girl that liked scissors way to much were in this situation and sang that song? What was it called? Oh! Take a Hint!" she smiled. I could practically see the gears running in her head.
I looked at her like she was stupid. "You want to sing a Nickelodeon song?"
"Why not?"
I bite my lip thinking about it. The song would be perfect but we were in our twenties. Weren't we supposed to be over those kinds of things by now? Surely no one would care and the song didn't sound like it was originally from some sort of bad children's show.
I finally gave in and nodded. Alex squealed and flipped through the song book until she found it. I let her talk to the DJ and I found my way to the stage, grabbing a microphone on my way.
Soon the music started and Alex was next to me. "You be Liz Gillies and I'll be Victoria Justice?" she suggested.
"So now you remember," I muttered but still nodded.
I slyly smiled at Alex and she returned the look. I felt like I was fresh out of the episode and was actually Liz Gillies dissing the boys, but I was Amber Roslyn and I would probably end up punching one.
Alex winked at me and started, "why am I always hit on by the boys I never like?"
A/N:
The very sexy Jackson Lovalo is to the right who is played by the equally sexy Collin O'Donoghue.
