"Come on Amber it's almost ten and I know you hate sleeping past this hour," Mason said nudging my side.
"Will you carry me down stairs please?" I mumbled.
"Yes you lazy butt."
He got up and his absence was like turning off the heater in the middle of winter. Soon his warmth returned when he picked me up out of bed and held me bridal style.
I wrapped my arms around his neck and snuggled up to his body. When we made it down stairs he set me on the couch and kissed my forehead, "I'll be back with food."
"I could go for some food," I said approvingly.
I could hear Mason and Cass talking about me in hushed tones that weren't very quiet considering I could hear every word they said.
"What happened?" Cass asked.
I heard Mason sigh, "she had a break down last night but she's okay now. I helped her through it."
"I've never seen her react like that," Cassy mumbled.
"She was hurt and scared Cassandra. There was a lot of things that happened yesterday. Natalie and her got in a fight and then the whole near abduction thing. It wasn't exactly a good day for her," Mason said defensively.
Cass replied, "don't get defensive Mason. It's not my fault she reacted like that and I wasn't saying I was annoyed by it. Besides you hurt her more than anyone I know."
I heard silverware slam against the granite counter top.
"How? I'm the one that helped her last night. I stayed with her and held her while she cried. Not you or anyone else. So tell me, how am I the one that hurts her most?" Mase said angrily.
"God dammit Mason. You string her along. You treat her like she's your princess and like she means the world to you then you go off and shove your tongue down Erica's throat. You can't keep doing that!" Cass cried angrily.
"Why does what I do with Erica matter?" he seethed.
I didn't hear Cassandra's reply but I didn't want to. I was tired of listening to this conversation. I really can't believe that he doesn't see what he does to me.
"Hello my beautiful troll doll I come bearing toast and soon some bacon and eggs will also be in your presence," Mason said cheerfully.
I blushed at the thought of bacon and what Jackson had said previously. Soon the embarrassment wore off and I made Mason feed me toast since he drug me out of bed before I was ready. He was right though, I hated sleeping past ten because I felt like I missed most of the day.
"Okay I'm not feeding you eggs and bacon," he said drawing the line.
"But Masey," I whined like Erica.
He looked at me disgusted, "don't talk like her. I hate it when she whines."
"Oh but you love it when she tongue rapes your mouth? Oh I'm sorry, it's not rape I guess considering you approve of the various STD's that flow into your body when she even looks at you."
"Have you had coffee yet?" he asked knowing I get grumpy if I don't drink the substance in the morning.
"Have you brought me coffee yet?" I countered.
He knows full well that I haven't had coffee yet considering my feet haven't even touch the floor this morning and he has catered to my every request.
When the boy returned with coffee I snatched it and took a big gulp.
"What do we say?" Mason altered his voice as if he was talking to a child.
