I hesitantly walked over to the window. Inside was a girl. She looked beaten down, and was pushing the walls. Tears streamed down her face. She was screaming, but I couldn't hear what she was saying.

Her lips mouthed the words, 'help me'

She looked me straight in the eyes and mouthed the words, 'Jeremy'

"Ari," I whispered.

"Yes, yes, now you see her," the voice barked. "I don't have all day."

"When's my deadline?" I questioned.

"Two days from now. Bring her to the meadow, or Ari dies," the voice said. "You may go now."

And with that, a pain shot through my head and I was once again enclosed in darkness.

*5 hours later*

I opened my eyes to see a white ceiling. I started panicking.

"Ari!" I screamed, knowing she was trapped in this same room.

"Jeremy," a voice whispered.

But it wasn't Ari.

It was Brittany.

"No! No! She's trapped, we've got to save he-"

"Jeremy, shh, it's okay," Brittany said in a soothing voice.

I wriggled my way out of her grasp.

"Jeremy?" Her face showed hurt.

"Don't touch me," I barked a little too harshly.

"Okay," she said, sniffling her nose.

"How did I get here?" I realized I hadn't asked that yet.

"I found you laying unconscious in the field," she replied.

"What field?" I knew the answer already, but I wanted to here her say it.

"Um, the field of flowers..the one where she vanished," Brittany stuttered, not wanting to bring up old wounds.

"Don't go back there, ever!" I got up out of my seat, slamming the door behind me.

How was I supposed to decide between my past and my future?

Was Ari worth another girl's life?

So many questions.

Not enough answers.
