Emma's POV

I didn't know the details from last night, no one would tell me. All I knew is that I was drugged and woke up in Toby's bed. That caused a mini panic attack. Toby has been acting weird all day. Crooked smiles were sent my way, and sparkling eyes always seemed to find their way towards me. But, I didn't care to investigate. I was too focused on my pounding head. The only activity that seemed to relive the pain was reruns of Gossip Girl and Brisk Iced Tea.

I turned off my phone, because the notifications were annoying me. I know I should leave it on since everyone is at a meeting for the tour and I got to skip it, but there it sits, quiet on my side table.

After my ninth episode of Gossip Girl, I decide I shouldn't hide all day. I think part of the reason I didn't want to get out of bed, besides my headache, was I didn't want to face my friends. It was embarrassing thinking you were foolish enough to have been drugged and not know it. I'm also terrified to hear about anything I did. I have heard some pretty crazy stories of people being high. I'm ashamed to acknowledge I am one of them.

Taking twenty minutes in the shower to soothe my aching muscles is helpful. I throw on jean shorts, after covering my scars with makeup, and an old dance t-shirt. My hair was almost dry by the time I was done with everything and I feel too lazy to do anything with it, so I throw it into a messy bun.

My phone was buzzing over and over again after I turn it on. I ignore all the texts and notifications and text Alex. He agrees to meeting me at the park.

It is a short walk to the park, but it gave me enough time to think. I know Alex doesn't know anything about last night, besides what Riley and Toby told him. I find him sitting on a bench, playing on his phone. I sneak up behind him, and cover his eyes with my hands.

"If you aren't Emma, you better get your hands off of me because I'm a black belt." Alex warns.

"No, you aren't." I protest, uncovering his eyes.

"You're right. But if it hadn't been you, the person would have ran away because he or she wouldn't have known me as well as you do."

"Hm, I guess that makes sense."

"It makes perfect sense." I laugh, sitting next to him. We make small talk for a while before seeing a bunch of people riding past on bikes. They all have the same name written on the side, "Al's Bikes". We head in the direction the bikers were coming from, and find a man, who I am assuming is Al, renting on bikes. I head over to "Al", hoping I had enough money in my back pocket.

"Hey." I greet. "How much to rent one?"

"Hm." He looks me up and down, then points to my bracelet. "Your bracelet. Then you'll get it back when you're finished and return the bike."

"My necklace? Why?" I ask.

"Well, this way I ensure I get my bikes back. If I take something valuable, I know you'll come back." Al explains. Alex just stands quietly behind me, knowing very well when I'm in this zone, I do not wanna be bothered.

"How can I trust I'll get my bracelet back?" I ask. Al shrugs.

"If you don't get it back, you can keep the bike." I nod quietly to myself. "Okay." I hand him my bracelet, and he points to a bike. Then Alex hands over his belt, not knowing what else to hand over. I told him to give Al his shirt, but apparently this park has a strict shirt policy from previous incidents.

We ride around on the sidewalks, and I smile to old couples walking hand in hand, or little kids running around the fountains. A few times I have to yell at Alex to yank his pants up, but for the most part it's quiet. It was nice hanging out with Alex, just the two of us. Just like old times.

*~*~*

The popcorn was warm in my mouth as Riley and I stared intently at the screen. We were watching some crime movie and were about to find out where the dead body was hidden. It was a very intense moment until Riley pauses it.

"What the heck! I was watching that!" I scold. Riley smiles and shrugs.

"Sorry. I just remembered something I needed to ask you and it can't wait." I roll my eyes and give him my full attention.

"Okay, what?"

"So at the party, my friend told me prom was coming up. He said I should go, and I think I will."

"Okay?"

"And I was wondering if you would want to go with me?" A smile tugs on my lips.

"Really?"

"Well I'm not joking." I squeal and throw my arms around his shoulders.

"I'd love to!" I exclaim. Riley laughs, pulling away.

"All your friends can come, too. Toby is going." I try to ignore the last part. He was creeping me out a little, and I was trying to get some space.

"Awesome. I'll tell them."
