Troy

Monday, the first regular school day of the second semester. The founding anniversary celebration is over so students don't have any other choice but be reunited with the terror professors, boring lectures and tedious homework.

Normally, I wouldn't be excited about going to school but today, I am. It's all because of that girl. I spent the entire weekend thinking about her. I have never been drawn to a girl before. There were so many beautiful, sexy and really hot girls throwing themselves to me in my former college since I'm the most popular guy but I never saw anything special in them.

Unlike my mystery girl. I have seen countless lovely faces before but hers is incomparable. Her angelic face was etched in my memory.  I know it's too early to tell but for some reason, I'm sure there's something special about her. She is more than just a pretty face.

My mind literally went dysfunctional over the weekend. I couldn't think straight. No matter what I do, she'd just pop in my head. I still can't believe how big of a fool I was. Of all things to forget Troy, her name.

"Troy, you've hardly touched your food. Are you alright?," StepDad asked pulling me from my reverie.

"Uh. I'm fine, StepDad. Just not hungry yet."

"Spill the beans, buddy."

"What?"

"Oh come on, Troy. It's obvious something's bugging you. Or should I say someone?," he said teasingly.

I knew he won't just drop the subject and I also needed someone to discuss my dilemma with so I decided to tell him everything.

"Okay. Here it goes. I met a girl at the soiree."

"You met a girl? So it's not Cheska you're thinking of?"

"No. What made you think it's Cheska?"

"Well, we all know she likes you. Besides, she called me up last night."

"She did? Why?"

"Because you haven't answered her calls. I thought you guys are finally together and just like any other couple your age, you had a lovers' quarrel."

"What? No! I'm mad at her because she said some nasty words to..."

"To?"

"My mystery girl."

"Mystery girl?"

"Yeah. Well, Cheska interrupted us. They had a fight and-"

"The two girls fought over you?"

"No, it wasn't her. It was my mystery girl's best friend. She got mad at Cheska for being such a bully. Things got a little out of hand with the two girls lashing out at each other. When I finally managed to stop Cheska, my mystery girl had asked her best friend to do the same. And then they left. They have already walked away from us when I realized I didn't even get her name. I stayed up all night wondering if I'll see her today."

"Woah. Someone's in love.," StepDad mumbled.

I looked at him questioningly.

He patted me on the shoulder before saying, "You'll find her. Maybe not today, but you will. For now, eat your breakfast. You need energy to survive a drama."

"What drama?"

"Cheska was crying when she called me last night. You may hate her for what she did at the ball but you guys have to talk.I told her you'd patch things up today."

"Why did you tell her that?"

"Because it's the right thing to do, buddy. It wouldn't be nice to leave her hanging. She just wants to apologize. She's still your childhood friend, after all.," he said before retreating.
