Troy

It's been days since we had that dinner at April's house; the night I serenaded the girl I want to spend the rest of my life with.

I know it's too early to think of marrying her, we're not even in a relationship yet, but I'm sure as hell I've fallen deeply in love with her and there's no way I'm letting anybody or anything get in the way of us ending up together.

Now that I finally know what it's like to be head over heels in love, I have come to accept and understand that the unbelieveably cheesy, not to mention totally crazy romantic stuff on movies, actually happen in real life.

Why I never imagined myself writing love letters or singing for a girl, especially singing a Bieber song. But I guess that's what love does.

It makes you forget about yourself and do things you never thought you would. Just so you can see the one you love smiling. And it's such a wonderful feeling knowing it was you and whatever sweetnots you did that made her happy.

This "pursuing a girl" thing is still new to me so I'd always end up disturbing Terrence, asking him what else I could do for April.

I'm not yet used to being sweet and all but I wouldn't mind doing silly things again if that meant making her feel special.

If she loves flowers, I'd give her a garden.

If she craves for brownies, I'd search far and wide, just so I could give her the chocolatiest. I'd even enroll in a baking class, just so I could bake the best ones for her.

If she likes Bieber that much, I'd learn all his songs, and sing to her just so I could have her attention.

If she's being the total weirdo Cheska said she is, I'd try to share the same weirdness even if that meant I also have to go nuts about a fictional character. I should probably start looking for books with perfect female protagonists.

I'd do all those things just so I could win Sellihca April's heart. Heaven knows how deep I have fallen for her. Who would have thought it's possible to be enamoured of someone you met only a few weeks ago.

"Hey!," StepDad said, snapping his fingers in an attempt to pull me from my reverie.

"StepDad. How long have you been there?," I asked.

"Long enough to watch you stare at the night sky like a 7 year old kid waiting for a falling star.," he said as he sat beside me on the porchsteps.

"I got so bored I decided to count the stars while waiting for you."

"I had an emergency meeting with the Board. Your Dad's still out of town so he asked me to attend in his behalf."

"Don't you ever get tired of being Dad's right hand? I mean, I'd also do anything to help my best friend but don't you think Dad's taking so much of your time? There's the company and you have me here. Sometimes, I think we are the reason you never dated or remarried."

"Ha, don't be silly, buddy. I owe my second life to your Dad and I'm forever indebted to him. Besides, I care about the company and you," he said ruffling my hair before saying "as much as your father does. And there's absolutely no reason for me to date or remarry.," he finished with a sheepish smile.

"You still think you'd find them?"

"I know I'd find them. I just know. One day, I'll see my lovely wife and hold my little Lyka again."

"That's the spirit!"

"What about you?," he asked, obviously changing the topic.

StepDad has been looking for his family for years. He hired different detectives but up until now their whereabouts remain unknown. It must hurt like hell how much he misses them.
